Why do I feel a heartbeat in my tummy?

Is it the baby? Is it a pulse of mine? I've felt it before in the past few weeks, but it's going nuts right now. Very fast. Anybody know?

It's probably hiccups. They feel exactly like a heartbeat (and that's what I thought it was the first time I felt it too)

Yea, its definitely hiccups...it'll happen even more frequently as you get near the end.

The baby hiccups that quickly?!?! I thought the hiccups were the rythmic 'kicks' I got once every few seconds. This is a few every second, feels exactly like a racing pulse.

With both my PG's hiccups never felt like that? I don't think it's the hiccups. I'm not sure how far along you are but the only time I "felt" the baby's heartbeat and saw it was when it was a little bit bigger. Are you feeling it just sitting there? Or do you have to put your hand on your belly?

i feel it too, but i think it is our heartbeat - can u feel ur heartbeat when u press both hands together? that may be what ur feeling, your heart from hand to stomach

my stomach seems to bounce in a rhythm adn i think its the baby, but when i take a deep breath it stops, so i'm sure its just my pulse

You could be feeling your own pulse, I feel my own often on my stomach.

You cannot feel the baby hearbeat.

It's either yours or hiccups.

I put a post on this last week because i wwas feeling the same thing! It has been happening more frequently now and still freaks me out every time. I hope it is the hiccups but I def. don't think it is my heartbeat because i feel it in all different places - sometimes very low, sometimes high, sometimes on one side or the other - it only lasts a few min and then goes away usually. Also, if dh puts his hand on the spot where i feel it, he can feel it too. I'm going to askk my dr. at my visit today.

So i asked my dr. and he said it is probably my pulse but, i don't know...its the weirdest sensation and sometimes i can't feel it from the outside - its like deep inside in the weirdest places! I'm not sure I like it!

I agree - it's probably hiccups! I feel it from time to time as well.
