why do people...
say crap like this? i know they mean well, but the choice of words is irritating:
- Can't wait to see how big you are!
- Can't wait to see you and your big belly!
- Wow, you're a lot bigger than last time.
Yes, I know I'm big. I'm 32 weeks pregnant. *** am I supposed to look like? Why can't people replace the words "big" with -- beautiful? glowing? healthy? cute?

I'm right with you. I hear the same things from family and friends. Thankfully my shower was last weekend and so many of those people were SO surprised at how small I am compared to what they expected.
I have had coworkers tell me I got big, though, and must have looked really annoyed because two coworkers bent over backwards to tell me that it isn't that I am really BIG, but it is that I didn't really look pg for a while and now it is obvious.

Thankfully, Ive had the opposite (well, except from my dad who likes to bust chops..He tells DH he's buying me a wheel barrell for Christmas).
Anyway, I get a lot of "Wow, you really popped" (which I know I did).
Im walking down the hall at work the other day and I hear the counselors saying 'Aww She's so cute", Look she popped". Had a company holiday dinner this past Friday night and I hear "When is she due?:..Jan 26th...and I "Feel" people just looking..."Wow, she's carrying small"..
I know they aren't trying to be rude..a simple congrats and Good Luck is nice though.

People at work feel the need to comment on how I look every week- between all my co-workers, I feel like I get comments daily. It's gotten boring and while they mean well, it's hard for me to not roll my eyes.  But I am also the type of person who really hates being the center of attention and I hate people commenting on my appearance, even when I lost a lot of weight (pre-pg) and was getting lots of compliments.

I am keeping the results of my last growth sono a secret. My FIL and others have said throughout the entire pregnancy that "I am obviously carrying a huge baby"
If they would have substituted huge for healthy, I would have been fine. But that word HUGE.
But at my growth sono, est. weight was 9.6 lbs...no ones getting the satisfaction of that until the annoucement comes.

Honestly, I don't think people mean it to be derogatory. I think that being big is considered a good thing in pg. We all spend so much time anxiously awaiting when we'll finally be "showing".

I have even been called Fat already by my boss....in a semi kidding way.
I just thought I was lucky in a sense to have this.
Its all perspective.
Dont let it get you down, instead think of how maybe they are jealous or just not too good with compliments.

I hear it at work too. This one woman is always commenting on my belly and really, I'm not that big. It's so annoying, I just ignore her now. I'm pregnant, I'm not supposed to look "normal" geez.
