WHY do people refuse.....
TO CLEAN THEIR HOUSE WHEN TRYING TO SELL IT?!?!??!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!
DH and I went to see a house this past weekend and it was a WRECK...I mean a WRECK!!!!! I'm not talking things that need to be fixed (and there were LOTS) I mean things that can be cleaned up......like LOTS of clutter, thousands of pieces of paper in one room EVERYWHERE, an overflowing ashtray, cups with straws hanging out of them all over the place.
FYI: Just because your house is in a nice area it doesn't mean it's going to sell itself ESPECIALLY for the outrageous prices you are asking....you need to CLEAN YOUR HOUSE

I cannot imaginge NOT cleaning for someone to come over- Im selling right now and when I get the call that someone is coming over I am literally scrubbing my floors with a tooth brush- I clean every crevice to to botttom. Especially in this market!!!!!

I went to see a house tht was being rented and the people in there didn't want to move - IT WAS AWFUL! We had to put our shirts over our noses to make it through. Needless to say - it wasn't a consideration at all.

The sad thing is I always wonder if this is how they show it, how do they REALLY live the house I bought was like that but we knew we were gutting it. It was so gross most prospective sellers walked in and walked right out, didn't even get beyond the foyer.
There are a lot of truly disgusting people out there. DH's sister's house in WI is BEYOND, absolutely beyond. MY IL's go out there about three times a year, break their backs organizing and cleaning only for it to be a wreck and gross within a week. I told DH NO WAY am I ever staying in her house

When I was selling my condo I was INSANE about cleaning. It drove me a little crazy after a while. I can't imagine leaving an empty glass in the sink, or a crumb on the counter, and having people come over my house to look at it!!!

I don't get it. Our wouldn't always pass a white glove test, but we clean it regularly enough so there aren't dust bunnies all over the place. We try to not even have a cup or glass in the sink when we leave the house these days.
Most homes I have looked at do appear clean, and very neat. But some have been really dirty, others have a ton of clutter. Not good.
