Why does everyone like the Britax models so much?

So I'm starting to do a little research on the convertible car seats and I know a lot of mommies on here LOVE the Britax Marathon and Roundabout.

Just wondering why the Britax vs. other models?

Can you also tell me, even though I KNOW it's been asked a million times before (sorry! ) -

Which Britax do you like best? and why?

I was told that the Britax Marathon was one of the best by people at both BRU and BBB.

THEN - when I went to have it installed by Carseat Chris - he also said that the Marathon is one of the safest on the market.

I don't know any other carseats to compare -but I know that Jack falls asleep in this and is very comfy -- and if it's one of the safest out there - it works for me.

We had a very hard time choosing our carseat - we went back and forth for a while between the Britax and the Recaro - in the long run we went with the Recaro - the britax was great but what we liked about the Recaro was the SIP - it has the sides that come out farther than the Britax and also had the headpiece - where as the Boulevard only had the head piece where as the sides didn't come out as far.

Honestly I would go to BRU or BBB and pull the car seats off the shelf and place them next to one another and let DC sit in them and see which one you like best and what fits your needs based on comparison.

I love the Boulevard, since at the time I bought it, it was the only car seat that had the full side impact protection. Also, the Britax models allow a tether to attach to the floor when in rear-facing mode. Not many convertible seats are designed for that. Those two features were huge selling points for me. That was several years ago, so I think other manufacturers have similar features now, but not many.

next time I will spend the money on one. I got the Triumph...my baby always seems slumped over when he sleeps.

i have the britax marathon. its big and room, my son seems comfortable in it.. way more comfortable than the eddie bauer we used to have.. it is safe, its soft and easily washable..

I have the Roundabout and the straps never tangle up since they have this cool velcro on the sides to hold them when my DD gets out, its very light and easily installed which is great since I travel with her a lot, and she is very comfortable in it.

Britaxs score very high on crash test ratings. They are also supposed to be more user friendly. My sister had one and loved it. She also had a Triumph and lliked it but not as much as the Britax. Thank God she handed me hers down...they are $$$$$$$ but I hear that they are worth it.

I know everyone likes the Britax but I just bought a Recaro. it is a "new" seat but it has extra side impact safety features, it is much nicer material and much better made IMO and it wasn't as expensive. Plus, Recaro is the same manufacturer that makes the safety seats for race car drivers so I think they know what they are doing.

Safe and user friendly. I have the Marathon and my mom bought a Roundabout for her car (she got a GOOD sale). We both love using it in the car. DD is always comfy and has fallen asleep in it numerous times with no slumping head issues.

I was not going to spend that much on a carseat but ended up buying 2 Britax Decathlon (same size as Marathon).

DS was growing so fast that I had to look for a convertible carseat for DH's car. I had a 2nd carseat for him but decided it would be a mistake since DS was growing so fast. I returned it.

I looked into the Graco Comfort but did not like it at all. I was disappointed in the "quality". I looked in the Evenflo Triumph and was actually going to buy that one for DH's car. But I talked to someone at BBB and realized that it was only going to 40 Lbs, the seat was not as high as the Britax either. So, I could have had to buy ANOTHER carseat again.

I decided to get the Britax Decathlon. The roundabout was too small. The decathlon is the same size as the marathlon but it was a crotch adjustment.

I found them at a great sale online.

ETA: We had the seat inspected by "carseat Chris" from the Nassau Safety Board and he said it was a great seat for safety.

Love mine. So soft and easy to buckle. I have 2 Marathons.

The crash test ratings basically sealed it for us. We have the marathon.

I didn't purchase one but my brother did, I believe the roundabout. For him it had to do with the extra padding, his DD travels from New Jersey to LI and New Jersey to Buffalo fairly frequently so it makes a difference to them. It also did well in crash tests. The triumph advance scored just as well in the crash tests.

I have the Marathon and LOVE it.
I bought them because they were the safest and you can have your child in it up to 60 lbs (am I correct about this weight?)

If you peel back the cover you can see a real difference in the quality of foam, the thickness, density, between the Britax and other models. They are very well built and have the best performance in safety tests. That's enough reason for me.
