Why does my husband feel the need to teach her these things

So my DH is on vacation this week and actually home with us. Last night at dinner my daughter farts really loud. So my DH turns to her and says what do you say (she will be 20 months on Monday). She yells out "Chair". So I look at him with this puzzled look. He starts laughing. Well a couple of minutes later she farts again. He says to her what do you say and do. She says "Chair" and starts wiggling around in the chair. So Now I am completely baffled, since my daughter vocabulary is pretty good and DH is now hysterical. I said why is she doing that. He said well I taught her that when she farts to blame in on the chair squeaking and that to make the chair squeak by wiggling around in the chair and to say chair. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Why oh why does he feel the need to teach her something that I will have to break later.Chat Icon Though it was kind of funny.

I always wonder where they learn these things. My DS actually leans to the side onto one leg when he's sitting and has to pass gas, as if it needs room to escape. I know I didn't teach him that!

Chat Icon Chat Icon The sad thing is by the second time she said it. I knew what she meant before you wrote it!!

My husband teaches Patrick the same. They call them rippers. Patrick will even call Daddy to tell him that he let out a great big ripper!!Chat Icon

Re: Why does my husband feel the need to teach her these things

OMG that is too funny....and also because my own dad used to do a similar thing with us when we were kids.....

We had this very 70's wallpaper in our kitchen with chickens on it, and everytime one of us or he farted, he would hit the chicken and say Damn chicken farted!!

I can totally see my Dh teaching my daughter something like this too....he has already taught her funny fart soiunds with her mouth and goofy faces.

I really think all Dads are goofy....

ETA: my mother would be mortified....and for the longest time I didnt think she farted because she never did around us.
