Why I hate buying a home....

Because SOME people are greedy, slimy, no-good selfish ______________

I feel better. This whole process has just killed me. I have to hand it over to DH because I can't take it anymore. You work so hard just to deal with horrible people and then have to start all over again. I hate it. Meanwhile we have tried to be the very best with our buyers. We've done everything for them that we would have liked to have had done in return - and so of course that is a smooth transaction. Contracts signed, money in escrow...perfect.

I really hope that the saying that what goes around comes around is true.Chat Icon

I know exactly how you feel. I now hate the whole process as well. It will get better though - once you find the home of your dreams and the sellers are cooperative..... Hang in there and take a break if you need to!

Thanks everyone. This has been a nightmare and I honestly hate these people. I never say that but this time it's true.

We have been abused left and right and I am so tired of it. How can you get your contract in to someone on July 5th and demand a July 30th closing date. Plus I hate how everyone jumps in with the whole - you have 30 days nonsense. Yeah I get that. I also get that these people are clearly desperate to move and will torture me the entire time after July 30th. There's no way anything can get done by that time.

Even in CA, where closing can be rather quick, ours was still 27 days and that was with everything working perfectly. There is no way you could close that quick in NY. If they needed to be out sooner, they should have put their house on the market sooner. It is sooo annoying.

BTW- I want the whole story!

I know - and they won't budge on the closing date. We wanted to compromise and they flat out said no - they have to close by September 1 or the husband loses his job. Yeah right. I'm so tired of this. Everything has been shady from the start. I can't wait to tell you the entire store...I have a feel it will be very soon.

Re: Why I hate buying a home....

OMG I feel your pain! We had to go to TWO closings on our condo. We were already in our place so that wasn't an issue BUT we handed over keys and signed EVERYTHING (taking off work) and then their financing feel through BUT they had everything. We had to get all the documents back-they screwed around about giving us the keys but they did-and go through the whole deal again! What a pain! Almost a month later we closed-after three dates fell through pushing it out to an extra month. I felt so sorry for the wife because it came out at that closing the husband had lied about several major things to get her money and her to buy in on it (I guess she had not wanted to move from her other home.) It was crazy. And to boot the buyers agent was a complete nut! She was barefoot lecturing my husband about admirals she 'knew' (the ONE that she mentioned was a LONG time retired) basically airing veiled threats to him. All the while she was barefoot in a muumuu dress with crazy, gray hair. Our agent literally yelled, "Shut up you old bat. Shut up!" It was a zoo. The poor real estate lawyer between our two parties looked like she wanted to melt away the entire time.

I HATE CLOSINGS...just hope for all to be over soon. I am hoping for you! You will get through it.

if you are getting bad vibes, bail.. God I had such ******* headaches with our closing. They demanded one date cause they were in such a rush then we had to postpone for another month and half their fault entirely

I hated that the most out of everything

That is unreasonable to expect a closing to happen that quickly. It takes a couple of weeks to get the homeowners insurance.
