Why I Will Never Shop on Black Friday
This is crazy. People in this nation need a serious reality check when they behave this way.

I'm also disgusted that Wal Mart has not learned from the tragedy that happened at their Valley Stream store a few years ago. It sounds as if they had very poor control of the situation, and they are lucky there was no stampede, though it's a shame people got sprayed.

i guess each store is different... i went to walmart last night and had a pleasant experience... got there about 9:15-9:30 got what i needed was out of the store by 10:30
all sale merchandise was out, the registers didnt open till 10!
i LOVE black friday...

I go every year and this year DH & I couldnt stop commenting on how everything was so calm. There wasn't even any bustle.

That is just disgusting! When I read that - I just can't imagine what the f uck is wrong with people!!! 
We went to Walmart in East Setauket this morning (around 9:30) and our neighbor who works there said it really wasn't bad last night or early this morning. Well, she said it was crazy packed to where they had to lock the doors and start only letting people in as people left. But she said the crowds were calm and orderly. I expected her to tell me that people were trampling each other.
When we were there is was actually really good. We checked right out with no line! And the only reason we decided to stop there was because they had Where the Wild Things Are on DVD for $1.96. We figured we'd just see if there were any left since we were in the area and there were - plus a lot of other things I would have thought they'd have been wiped out of.

we were out shopping at 5am and I was surprised how quiet the stores were. Even the mall wasn't too crowded!

It's out of control! Pepper Spray and Stun Guns were used this year.
I've never shopped on Black Friday and never will. You couldn't pay me to be out there

It's probably calm and dead a lot of places b/c of how bad the economy is and how many families can't afford to have any kind of Christmas this year.
I hope while we are all out buying we stop and find a way to help some families in need.

I can guarantee those people are going to be popping Eggos after the first few batches they make.
it really is pathetic. The video of the grandfather bleeding, unconscious in Walmart was sick.
While I blame the people for being a bunch of animals, if stores really wanted to maintain order, I believe they would. They would stagger their doorbusters throughout the weekend rather than hyping one day like this.

It's crazy! I will never shop on Black Friday either! I don't understand it at all...why don't stores just put a lot of the deals online...and stay closed on Thanksgiving...they could save on paying holiday pay and offer free shipping instead, and they wouldn't have issues like this!
