Why is the Wii so hard to get this year?
It was new last year. Has it been hard to get all year long?

Because Nintendo stopped production on it in order to drive demand up.
Big mistake, it backfired on them. They are losing A LOT of money.

i think it is harder to get this year for christmas then last - the wii is something people want after playing it - they have a larger audience - they had trouble getting enough parts and manufacturing sites up - they have been stuggling to keep up all year -

I bought mine in the summer at the toys r us in the city, and there were a huge stack of like 50 of them at a time, every time I went there. I find it hard to believe that they can't produce more for the holiday season. I believe you that they stopped the production on purpose.

We aren't looking for one, but I remembered that my BIL and my cousin got them last year for Christmas, so I was really surprised that they are so hard to get this year.
But them trying to create demand makes sense.
