I hate Hillary.
No one is mentioning Monsanto? I am pretty sick of being poisoned 24-7 and it amazes me so few people care that our food source has been tainted probably for life. You want round up - a known carcinogen - put INSIDE your food, so it cannot be washed off because it is now in the foods DNA? And we wonder why everyone is so sick all the time.
I actually wasn't aware of this. I can now add this as a reason that I do not support her.
in my opinion it should be a huge issue for everyone. I am glad you now know. It is the number one reason why I would never vote for her.
There is not much scientific evidence to support any of this. If you read scientific journals, you can see a lot of this is surrounded by "toxins."
Sorry not clear what you mean, are you saying there isn't scientific evidence to show round up isn't a carcinogen? You can buy round up at Home Depot. It's a weed killer. You think that's safe to splice into the DNA of food we are supposed to eat?
If you could show me the study that says that it is carcinogenic, that would be great. The article I read recently refuted that "evidence" that came out recently and said that while looking closely at the data, the study was not done well and bits were cherry picked.
Basically, scientists do not agree that it is carcinogenic and evidence has not clearly shown this.

ETA: and even if it said to be harmful, then one has to look at the amount that causes harm. I mean even water is poisonous in certain amounts. We aren't avoiding things with water in it.

Re: Why NOT Hillary
I will vote for Hillary. My views are aligned with hers and I do believe that she wants to do good by the American people.
I don't love her as a person more due to my gut than any record on paper. I just feel like she's a "politician." She can and will play the games. I dislike this feature just as much in men, this has nothing to do with men getting away more with things than women, as a pp suggested. This feeling goes for all parties (I feel like I need to shower after just looking at Chris Christie), all positions.
I also feel like if we are finally getting a woman in the spot of president, do I really want it to be that she initially made her name nationally because she was married to a president? Yes, she went on to carry her own career. But I personally would love to look my daughters in the eyes one day and say how women can do anything, and know that it's on their own accord and not because of marriage.

I'm not defending Monsanto, because I hate their business practices, but vinegar is a great weed killer, and almost as good as round-up, so to just claim that "weed killers" are carcinogens isn't accurate.

Re: Why NOT Hillary

Years ago in my early 20's, I was assaulted when I was on vacation outside the country. Hillary had just been elected as our Senator in NY (which baffled me because she wasn't technically IN NY, but that's not a good reason to not vote for her), and the Clintons maintained a home in the country where I was assaulted so my lawyers (and the embassy's officials) thought it was a great idea for me to try to get her attention/support for my case.
I wrote her letters, went to her offices in the city and LI, called her, everything I could do to get her help and to become involved with the case. NOTHING. NO RESPONSE.
Chuck Schumer helped, Steve Israel helped, my family's reps upstate helped, but no word from Hillary or her team.
My lawyers contacted her office - nothing. My therapists contacted her - nothing.
I won my court case, guy was imprisoned for 10+ years, resort found negligent, etc.
A letter from her office arrived within two weeks of the verdict - saying she was happy to be involved in such a positive outcome from such a terrible crime and anytime I need her help again in the future to feel free to contact her office.
I will not vote for her.
Wow. As if i couldn't hate her any more!
Glad you won. Hope you are ok.

You should do some research on her early career. She did a lot before even meeting Bill. Of course, she was thrust into the spotlight more when she became first lady, but she was very involved in politics and helping women and minorities from back when she was in college.
That does include even being a young republican and working on the Goldwater campaign, but once she saw what was happening with the civil rights movement, she changed her affiliation because she realize that she no longer agreed with a lot of the republican dialogue.

Re: Why NOT Hillary
I am not a huge Clinton fan. She is very much a politician, changing her views as the wind blows (not unusual but disappointing). Also, for all we know about her (and that is A LOT), I don't feel like we know who she is all that well. Whereas, Sanders seems very genuine to me, and, as a former New Yorker, very familiar. I was also really bothered by her representing NY just because a seat happened to be open (I know, they all do this, but it was annoying). Her connections are both a positive and a negative; I actually think she would be very effective, but you get the sense that she has a lot of strings to other people and businesses. The two worse things about her are the sense that she somehow deserves the nomination and presidency and that women must vote for her because she is a women, both ideas that completely turn me off.
With that said, some of the scandals associated with her are overblown or ridiculous:
1. Benghazi: This is, simply, not a scandal. It is a tragedy. Stevens asked for extra support, withdrew his request, and asked for more supplies, etc., from the emails I read. Could/should she have done more? Probably. Does this make her inept or evil? No. The only people who think that are people who already thought she was inept and evil. This is a pretty decent site, although it does not address all the accusations: http://www.factcheck.org/2015/10/partisan-spin-on-benghazi/
2. E-mail server: Again, not a scandal. Remember, she became SoS in 2008. That was 8 years ago. She was the first SoS to heavily use e-mail in the position. I'll grant you that she should not have used the server she did. You can even argue it shows bad judgement, which I'd buy, and that she should have known better even if it was not specifically prohibited.
I'll vote for her if the other option is Trump or Cruz, but not with any enthusiasm. If one of the other Republicans win the nominations I would have to think about it.
