Why two years later is it almost impossible to get effective treatment for COVID?

I really am not a conspiracy theorist but I cannot understand what is going on when there are effective treatments but people (here in affluent areas of the world) cannot get them - leading to unnecessary death.

In the last month with so many going through covid I have heard from countless friends in NY/NJ/CT horror stories about them trying to get their elderly parents treatment. Specifically the monoclonal antibody infusions . None of them were successful. I have friends that were pretty sick themselves told by NYU doctors that the treatment works but they don’t have it so they can’t prescribe it. Leading to unnecessary hospitalizatons. There are at least two effective treatments against omnicron- one type of monoclonal and the Pfizer pills but NO ONE can get them. How does this make any sense? Where is President Biden and Governor Hochul in all of this???

Look at some of these articles - how can we make sense of this??? Where is the outrage?

Back in the fall I know of 2 coworkers who had Covid pretty bad...not hospitalized but pretty sick and not getting better. Both were able to get the monoclonal antibodies and were better very quickly after.
The one told me she had to wait on line for hours to get it, but it was available.
Seems there is now a shortage of this treatment?
They do have it in nursing homes because my father in law tested positive for Covid last month and the nursing home said they have the monoclonal antibodies if needed, but he was asymptomatic. However when he got admitted to the hospital for something unrelated, they told us they didn't have the antibody treatment at all there.

Both my parents have covid right now. They were both offered monoclonal antibody treatment like they were being offered gum. They’re in NY.

This is the question of the year. How can they not have a widely available treatment for this virus but they were so quickly able to come out and push a vaccine, whose benefits are debatable.

Both my parents had Covid a week or so ago. My mother got the monoclonal antibody infusion but mainly because she is in the middle of chemo. My father was denied. My mom was better in 2 days.

My father got COVID back in October and received monoclonal antibodies. He is in NY. The reason there are none now is that it was effective against the delta variant. They are not effective against the omicron variant. Currently the drug companies are in the process of formulating new monoclonal antibodies for omicron, but they will not be available until March at the earliest. They said this back in December when they realized the old ones were not effective on the new variant then. The only cure right now is convalescent plasma from someone else who had and recovered from the omicron variant. As for the pills, they are just being manufactured now.

My DH had Covid during Christmas week. He qualified for antibodies due to his heart disease but they didnt have them luckily he was fine. My friend who lives in NJ also had Covid that week and got them and they are in NJ. They were fine in a couple of days after.

My parents had Covid after Christmas. Their doctors recommended they get the infusion due to their other health issues they qualified for it. They were able to get it with no problem at all at Good Sam. My friends husband also earlier that week got it there at well he qualified because he has had a kidney transplant. His wife tried to get it for him at Stonybrook but they didn't have it at all but Good Sam had it.

I'm by no means a Republican but I'm over this.
I don't see how this doing us any good anymore.
Unless the government is going to truly step up and pay people to stay home until they deem it "safe" (which we know they won't do), then they need to stop this half-assed back and forth.

We are in FL now and for a while the mono treatment and ivermectin were easy to get. The gov here said Biden had put limits on the mono treatment and now it’s hard to get here. Who knows what’s true but something happened !!

Most of the monoclonal antibodies don't work against Omicron.

Only one type works which is why there is a shortage and hard to get.

I dont understand why they are investing so much money in the vaccine that doesnt work, and the boosters , that dont work, and put it into treatments......but they wont because it is all about$$$$

It is evil and criminal how certain treatments have been blocked that have been available for a while now. There is most certainly an underlying agenda at play here. People are less likely to get additional shots if they know there is a treatment. Also, if an effective treatment is widely available, then the emergency use authorization for the vaccine cannot stand.

I cannot fathom why they would rather let people die from covid rather than try treatments that have proven effective. The only possible reason is because they need the covid death numbers to be higher to justify all of these draconian and useless restrictions and mandates.

As for the shots, there are so many other questions I have. Why isn't Moderna or J&J "fully approved" yet? Why isn't Moderna and J&J approved for ages 12-18 yet?
