Wilderness Lodge, Saratoga Springs, Animal Lodge or Waldorf Astoria?
I originally booked the Nick Resort because it looked like so much fun for the kids but some of the bad reviews are really bad (bed bugs and cockroaches related).
Now we are trying to decide between Wilderness Lodge, Saratoga Springs, Animal Kingdom or other off property nice hotel like Waldorf Astoria or the Ritz.
Which would you choose?

Love Wilderness Lodge because you can take the boat to the MK. Everything is also under one roof, unlike Saratoga Springs. Saratoga is very spread out, and there are many internal bus stops.

I like that everything is under one roof, esp since we expect some rain in late Sept.
Animal Lodge also looks great for the animals.
Why is it so hard to pick a resort in Orlando?!?!

Saratoga springs is very spread out and gets mixed reviews.
I love the AKL. If your kids love animals it is a great hotel. I went there prekids and loved having a glass of wine on our balcony watching the animals right below.
WL has the same architect so simular feel just different theme. Very popular with kids. Close to the MK is a plus as is the boat to the MK.
WA and Ritz are two fabulous resorts...I have heard you can get a room for less than some of the deluxes and it is a nicer property if you do not mind being off site.

WL, there is nothing more convenient than walking on and off the boat to MK.

Just booked Wilderness Lodge. We will take the boat to MK for extra magic hours. The boys will love being on the boat.
I like that everything is under one roof because we do expect some rain in late September.

When DS is a little older we are going to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. It is an awesome resort. The only downside is that you have to take the bus everywhere as it is one of the resorts that is a little out of the way (but totally worth it IMO). For our trip coming up this October we're staying at the Beach Club since we can walk to Epcot (it is right behind the rear entrance of Epcot by the Boardwalk and Yacht Club) and then take the monorail to the Magic Kingdom. If you wanted to be closer I would look into someplace like that but out of the ones you listed I would definitely pick (and they're all great options) the Animal Kingdom Lodge and then the Wilderness Lodge.
And if you stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge you have to try Jiko! It was SO good!
