Will he ever sleep elsewhere or am I doomed to stay home forever?!

DS is a fantastic napper/sleeper at home. No complaining, no crying, nothing. I put him down, say sleep tight and he falls asleep usually within 10 minutes.

But he will not sleep anywhere else!!!Chat IconChat Icon Chat Icon

He'll hardly sleep at my parents' house where he has a crib. He used to sleep there for hrs when I was a FTWM. If he does fall asleep, it's for 45 minutes ONLY, not his usual 1.5 hrs.

Please help me, what do I do? He's been in there babbling for an hour. He's not even crying. He's 15 months.

We are thinking about going to FL in March and honestly, I'm not 100% we'll go bc I'm afraid he won't nap or STTN there.

Someone, help.

ETA: I bring his sound machine and bedtime blanket too. It's not working. The crib mattress is the same. He slept here for 10 months, 2-3 naps a day. Agggh! I am so frustrated. Just took him out. He's happy as can be but clearly tired. Agggh, this is his freaking 2nd home.

We have this issue too. DS amazing sleeper in his crib.

He has a traveling lovely and sound machine that goes with him to grandparents and on vacation with us. I think those 2 things really help to make him feel "at home".

Its not perfect, but it helps.

It has to be an age thing. DS stopped sleeping at my Moms in early December. He was 13 months old. He use to have no problem going down for a nap or to sleep for the night. Now I have to sit with him and rock him to get 30 minutes of sleep...I bought another white noise machine for there and nothing helps. HE will be 15 months old next week and I am also going away with him in Feb...I am going to keep trying it with him...Hopefully it is just a phase...

DS is 18 months and never sleeps anywhere but home. Honestly I'm just happy he's a good sleeper, so we schedule our lives around that.

We went on vacation when he was 12 months old, and one of us lay in bed w/ him while he napped. He wouldn't sleep in the pack and play in the hotel, but he slept in a bed w/ me and DH took the other bed.

Thanks. I usually schedule around his naps too, but I'd really wish he'd start napping at my parents house again. 10 months he napped there, until September!

More worried about the vacation. When we've tried putting him in bed with us when he was waking at night for a couple weeks, he thought it was play time.

But, you're right, overall he's a great sleeper so I guess I'll just have to deal.
