will I ever get my brain cells back

Ever since I got pregnant and even more so since the baby was born my brain cells are slowly drifting away.
When I take a shower I don't remember if I shampooed so I do it again. sometimes I even but the body wash in my hair on accident. I have gone into the shower forgeting to take off my glasses. And today I was doing laundry and couldn't remember if I turned it on. When I saw that I started it I couldn't remember if I put detergent in. Help!! will it ever get better.

How old is your DC?

I found that I didn't become smart again until about 3-4 months after he was born.

I was petrified I would be stupid for the rest of my life. Chat Icon

Re: will I ever get my brain cells back

DD is 5 months old and I'm just starting to regain some but I feel like I have a ways to go. DH is always making fun of me-he thinks I need to go back to workChat Icon I'm afraid that may not help though since I'll be even more distracted about DD

Re: will I ever get my brain cells back

At almost 9 months PP my DH still calls me a "Scatterbrain" and I have NEVER been like that before.

I used to be the person everyone came to when they needed to remember something.

It's gotten better, but it's still not anywhere near what I used to be.

I've shaved the same leg twice. I've tried to unlock my front door with the car opener. I put formula into my coffee instead of sugar.

And that's all in the last month. Chat Icon

Re: will I ever get my brain cells back

nope
we call it Mommy Brain
I forget things all the time
I have to make lists of everything that has to get done and still I forget sometimes
Life is just so busy now with 3 kids plus my nephew its hard to remember things

example: my sil dropped off my nephew late this morning...she is pregnant and she walked in and said well I forgot his diaper bag at home
the other day she forgot his sneakersChat Icon Chat Icon

so she has Pregnant Mommy Brain which is worse than regular Mommy BrainChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I forget EVERYTHING!!!

As long as I know where all 3 kids are and what they are doing at all times everything else is minor.
