All the current signs point to YES.
Wagner is probably one of the best closers in the league. Who's better? Rivera? If he is... barely. Thats about it.
The Mets see this is a deal that must get done. They will offer 4/40 and Wagner should take it.

Yup. I like one of the bottom points. "Last season produced the third highest attendance jump in franchise history".
Just goes to show you... IMO there are just as many Met fans in NYC as there are Yankee fans.... as many of the Met fans are finally coming out of the woodwork now that the team ownership has their head out of their a__.
If you build a competitive team... they will come.
I might buy a Saturday season ticket package this season to show my support.

Re: WILL THE METS
whatever, let's see the product on the field
and how praytell are we being hypocritical?
in this day and age "building a team" means spending money and buying the right players
i do agree with you re: the way Pill presented it when it came to the Mets vs. what we said in regards to the Yanks. That came out the wrong way.
But, in the scheme of things, MLB (not only the Yanks) is primarily about who has more money to put forth a competitive team. Sometimes it works, and sometimes, as we've seen, a 30 mil team can knock off a 190 mil team.

Call me a hypocrite when the Mets put a 200mil team on the field. The Yanks are nothing but a 200million choke job.
Do you know that the Mets will stay under the Luxury tax... while the Yanks will be over it AGAIN.
When the Mets put up a 200mil team... then call me a hypocrite. But like I said... don't be jealous because the Mets spend the money on things they NEED... compared to the YANKS who spend in excess and ignore their primary problems.
The sad thing is... right now this Mets team is easily as good as the Yanks... at about 80million less.
And if you don't believe me... look at it position by position.
And as far as "home grown talent" goes.
Would you care to guess how many Mets players are on the 40man roster compared to the Yanks that are home grown (meaning first year in the bigs was with the NY team?). The number would surprise you.
I'll sum it up real easy for you. The Mets have three players on the starting field that are home grown. The Yanks now have two.

Re: WILL THE METS
Actually.... i'll correct myself... the Yanks have three home grown players in the field now.... two of them being grossly overpaid.
