Window covering help....
hi ladies- i know some of you have awesome design skills...i was hoping someone could help me find a shade or something for my window
its 51" wide and my kitchen set is white. the counter is grey-ish and half appliances are white half are black.
i have no idea what to get? id like maybe black toile or maybe black checkered or just black or grey or even a color if someone can suggest. the only decor i have in my kitchen is a big black and white framed print. other than that the walls are bare.
problem is -i am not finding anything that fits a 51" spot- and i dont know what to hang it on either.
any suggestions/website/link to specific products would be a big help... dh is bugging me all of our bare windows..
Thanks!!! Here is a pic Image Attachment(s):

I'll try and send you a picture of the ones I just put up this weekend - my kitchen colors are just like yours.

I think you can go to a fabric store and have them make it for you.

I think a black toile valence and maybe a pleated shade if you need privacy or to block sun would look really cool in your kitchen!

Do you need a shade or will a valance work? I'd suggest, since you don't have much room on either side, raising the rod higher or at the height of the crown molding on your cabinets. Then get a valance. You might only need 1/or 2. Color wise, I love your idea of the black/white toile.

check out smith & noble... they have catalogs and web sites. You can order samples for free and then everything is customized.
You can do a nice wood blind and maybe a fabric valance.

im really open to anytihng-i just want something so it doesnt look so empty- the wiindow covering will give it warmth
either a valance or im open to a tie up shade- i just can find the right width - or even style
eta- i agree putting the covering at the height of the cabinet molding - very good idea
randi- i will look at that site- i had never heard of it
