Window coverings

What are you planning to use to keep the light out? Mini blinds, roman shade? I am trying to figure out what to install on the window in addition to the valance that comes with the bedding set.

I have room darkener shades on my windows and i love them. Especially if you get early morning sun.

I am anxiously awaiting the completion of your room! I can't wait to see how it looks with the stripes and chair rail.

Re: Window coverings

We did valances and then installed room darkening shades underneath to pull down when we need them.

Re: Window coverings

We had custom ones made (my aunt gave this as part of her shower gift)

Keep in mind this was before he was even born (over a year ago) so that's why the room looks so bare! Chat Icon

Oh - and I do plan on getting black out shades to put in front of the shades - in hopes that he will sleep till 6:00 Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Window coverings

We did room darkening cordless cellular blinds. We are very happy with them. I am really glad we went cordless for safety reasons. Those wind up things for blind strings function terribly.

Re: Window coverings

I have white wood blinds.

You can't really see it THAT great in this pic 'cause the blinds are open, but you can get the idea...

We have mini blinds & then curtains. We probably should have gotten the black out ones.

Re: Window coverings

frankly? NOTHING!

I know infants have difficulty developing a circadian rhythm, but the moment Scone is capable of reacting to sunlight cues, he'll be seeing sunlight.

the light isn't bright or annoying at our place... it is diffused through thin sheers, but it isn't going to be blocked anywhere....

Re: Window coverings

We have dark wood blinds and drapes hanging over the window....they have a thick white lining in the back which helps to darken the room at night.
