Window shades/blinds??!!
I have these 5 windows in my living room. I am at wits end trying to decide what do do with them. Right now I threw on some white sheers with a taupe valance thing, but I need something like blinds or shades to keep the sun out. It gets so hot and so bright you can't see the tv screen. I tried to take a pic of the inside but my camera is dead and my cellphone makes it too dark but here is a pic of the front of the house B4 we bought it, you get the idea. I just need opinions on some nice wood blinds or maybe some nice roman shades? Image Attachment(s):

Re: Window shades/blinds??!!
Hmmm
I have 5 windows together also, but it is a bow window.
I got honeycomb blinds for each one (again, it is an angle). Then I just put pinch pleated sheers on rings over the whole window, to draw back the curtains during the day.
In your case since the window seems flat, I don't know if I would put seperate blinds or one large one. Can you post a pic from theview inside to give a better idea?

Re: Window shades/blinds??!!
The windows are flat (I hate them) and they crank open outward. I found these ok roman style shades for pretty cheap on Domestications website. I'm just not sure how much light they can keep out. I may order one to see if I like it. I tried to take a pic but my camera is dead and the cell takes bad pics. Here is a pic of one of the shades I was looking at. Image Attachment(s):

Re: Window shades/blinds??!!
Being that they are flat though, I don't think I would do 5 seperate blinds. I think it will look odd.
For example, I have another window with 3 seperate panes. I did one large honeycomb blind over it. For my flat windows, I did one whole shade. For my angled windows, I gave each one their own seperate shade. KWIM?
So that makes it a bit more tricky.
Maybe someone else will post a pic, if htey have a flat set of windows like yours.
Oh, another ?. Do they have any woodwork or wall or molding between them at all? If so, then yes, seperate would work.

Re: Window shades/blinds??!!
There is no molding or woodwork around them or between them. I agree, and even DH said that separate blinds are not going to work, so I switched over to looking at some nice shades as I posted above. Wait till he hears I wanna take down the blinds I made him put up in the bedroom and replace with shades also. I like the blinds in the bedroom, only 2 windows, but they don't look homey, it looks too hard, like an office. I was going to try go throw a valance above them first, that may work. I gotta get my camera battery replaced or recharged so I can get some pics.
