Window treatments for sliding glass doors
Please show me what you have to cover your sliding glass door. We have curtains right now & want to get something else.
TIA

Re: Window treatments for sliding glass doors
J, My mom has doors just like your's in her house. For years she has had a valance up (she has it so it looks full and it's hung on a pretty rod with pretty finials). It works because it lets in TONS of light during the day. It could work for you because you don't really need the privacy of curtains, ya know, and the window faces east (right) so you'd get amazing morning sun.

Re: Window treatments for sliding glass doors
I don't have any pictures with me, but I have 2 sets of sliders and have grommet (think that's what they are called) panels and I love them b/c they are sooo simple to slide over at night, and easy to open during the day.
the material of the curtain/panel is definitely toward the drape side than a curtain side, but not heavy at all.

Re: Window treatments for sliding glass doors
I have curtains and then bamboo shades
In my bedroom I have a single shade b/c the doors aren't too wide - about standard width...
In my living room the sliders are huge - so I got two panels that I hung side by side and I added the top down bottom up feature so I had more light control...I'm getting used to them in the living room, they've only been up for about 2 days and I have to adjust them a little...
I had no idea what to do with my sliders - at first I just had the curtains but at night I didn't have 100% privacy and it looked like I had sheets hanging from outside which I didn't like...with the shades it looks a lot better from outside when the shades are down...our outdoor area is outside the sliding doors so that is why I was concerned about how it looked from the inside as well as outside...
I love plantation shutters on sliders but it was too expensive for us right now with all the other projects we want to do in the house - but shutters are my favorite window treatment
