Winthrop Hospital Maternity visiting hours....
Anyone know what they are? My cousin just had a baby and I wanted to go visit tomorrow night.
Thanks!

Re: Winthrop Hospital Maternity visiting hours....
General visiting hours I believe are 6:30-8 p.m. Grandparents and siblings of the child can visit from 2-4 p.m.

does that mean the baby stays in the nursery all that time?
I know when I delivered last time, babies weren't allowed in the rooms during general visiting hours.

NO...the baby was out ...like in the room when we were there and we are only friends
ETA...We were not allowed to hold the baby though. He was out until like 6PM

I just delivered on the 27th. Hours are from 1-8. The baby is in the room from 1-6, but parents can put the baby back in the nursery earlier if they do not want the guests to be that close..

Re: Winthrop Hospital Maternity visiting hours....
well thats MUCH better! I don't want to be away from the baby for so long!
I guess they realized there were a lot of young grandparents and old siblings roaming the halls during those hours (my sisters were there "illegally" so they could be in the room with the baby).

If the visiting hours are 1-8 why would they take the baby back at 6? If guests are there from 1-6 with the baby, what is 2 more hours?
anyway, I can't wait to see my cousins little girl!!!!!

They said the reason is because a majority of the visitors come from 6-8, afterwork. This really seemed to be true for us. The grandparents and siblings were happy to be able to hold the baby during the day, and the rest of the visitors were around mostly after 6.

Sorry I did not read all the answers; that makes sense.

Re: Winthrop Hospital Maternity visiting hours....
When I went to see my cousin she said it is because of the shift change for the nurses. The girl in the room w/ my cousin had visitors all day and all night. The poor girl just wanted to be left alone and she had people in and out all day.

This was one of the reasons I was so thankful to be able to get a private room. The new visiting hours must be so much harder on all the new moms that have to share a room.
