Winthrop v. North Shore Manhasset

Hi ladies! I am new to the boards. DH and I are not TTC yet but I am looking for a new OBGYN and would like to choose a doctor that is affiliated with the hospital I want to deliver at.

Please share your experiences of the two hospitals.

Thanks!

I used Winthrop. I paid for a private room. I thought everyone was really nice. They had stricter visiting rules when DS was born but I think they changed them. I liked the strict hours.

I have only used Winthrop, but know they have a top notch nicu unit. The New Life Pavillion was great and every person I met could not have been nicer!

$220 per night.

I had a private room also at Winthrop and I also like the stricker rules when I had DS.

It used to be there was only 2 hours when anyone could visit and the baby would be in the nursery. Grandparents were allowed in the afternoon with the baby out. Now I think anyone can come anytime.

DITTO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! such a great experience while in L&D.

the only bad experience i had was when i got my anatomy sonogram at NS Manhasset. It was probably the most horrible day of my life. the radiologist gave me such wrong info which ended him saying i have 3 weeks to terminate my pregnancy if i desire. after that I refused to ever step foot in the Manhasset maternal fetal medicine sonogram unit EVER again. My ob/gyn agreed and allowed me to go to NYU for my sonos.
my son is absolutely beautiful and i thank the lord for being so close to manhattan to deal w/ more advance technology and better trained docs.

i would def deliver at NS Manhasset again, but would never have sonos there.....

Good luck!
