Re: Wireless Computer Geeks...
you would have to buy a wireless print server bridge device....
just make sure which ever device you buy is compatiable with the product
i don't have much detail on them but here is an example of one
link
my printer is network ready so i just plug it into a router.... then my wireless devices can still connect

Re: Wireless Computer Geeks...
I hooked one up at my house... It is REALLY convenient and not too hard to do.
I believe that your printer has to have a network card as well !!! Good luck!

Re: Wireless Computer Geeks...
If you have America Online, you can utilize the "Network Port Magic" that they provide...it will allow you to share files/folders and printers in your house through your wireless network.

you can do this yourself without AOL You still need hardware to go with the printer so it can be wireless

Re: Wireless Computer Geeks...
I have my printer hooked up to my Airport-- so I can print wirelessly. I am not sure if other wireless routers have a USB input- but if you plug your printer in-- it should theoretically work.

Re: Wireless Computer Geeks...
To expand on Babyboy's post regarding the print server device:
If you have a printer that already has a network card (wired) then if your router has extra ports you can just plug it in there.
If your printer already has a wireless card, you would just need to configure the wireless card in the printer to use the wireless router (like you do on your PC).
If your printer is USB, and your router has USB ports (I dont think many do..) you should be able to connect it wired via USB to the router.
If none of the above apply, you have a couple of choices - install a wired or wireless card directly in the printer (often difficult and expensive) or buy a printer server device. It is a device, like the router that you would hardwire the printer to (make sure before you buy one that you get the proper connection, either USB or Parallel port connection). Then this device acts 'like the network card' and you can configure this to connect to your router.
I've used this one in the past.
Good luck!

Re: Wireless Computer Geeks...
A few different things, and I've had all of these configs at my house or FH's at some point.
Some printers have wireless networking built in, so it's simple, you dont have to wire it at all.
Or you cna get a wireless print server
or you can wire it to your wireless router
