Re: Wish us Luck
Good luck DD is 4 months and still swaddled although she breaks out every night. We've tried everything and she wants to be swaddled to fall asleep still. Ped said yesterday though "no more swaddling", so we'll see what happens.
Good luck

Why did the doc say no more swaddling??? My DD is 4 mos. and still happily swaddled in her Miracle Blanket (she doesn't break free, though).
And to the OP - good luck!

Re: Wish us Luck
Thanks..I'm so nervous..the doctor said just do it "cold turkey" so thats what we are doing..hopefully it won't be that bad since his legs were the only thing swaddled and he breaks out of it every night..eeek..

Re: Wish us Luck
Good Luck!!
We used the miracle blanket (full swaddle, arms and legs) until she started breaking out at about 6 months.
We went cold turkey to the sleep sak, it was a good 4 or 5 nights until she was able to sleep soundly again.

Re: Wish us Luck
Good luck...DD is 3.5 months & still in her miracle blanket. One night the blanket was at nanny's house & she was up 3x (usually she sleeps through the night)...hope it goes well.

He's of the mind that she should be getting used to her limbs while she sleeps (arms moving, etc)...he didn't say there was anything wrong with doing it in terms of development or anything, just that she'll need to get used to it sooner than later. The doc's paperwork they sent me home with also said to put her to bed awake, not to let them only fall asleep with rocking or soothing. Baby steps for us

Ugh - my ped told us to put him awake also....and that he should be sleeping through the night. He said in the condition I am in now though -- I should wait a few weeks to start torturing myself!

Um yeah, we're not there either. In fact, we still have a hard time putting her DOWN once she's sleeping (unless it's right before bed and she's swaddled). I keep meaning to start a thread for suggestions, but haven't yet. Right now DH is holding DD as she sleeps soundly in his arms -- which is the case EVERY night!

OMG- you are posting EXACTLY what I was going through a little over a week ago. It gets better. DD is now sleeping on her belly. BUT still waking and I STILL break down and give the boob.
The nervousness about him being on the belly will go away- you'll get used to it.
