Wishful thinking
Is anyone else planning on getting in their best shape AFTER having this baby?
I do. I know how hard it's going to be but I believe it is possible

Re: Wishful thinking
Hoping to, or at least where I was when I got married. Right now, I am 26.5 weeks and it is so hard to do much of anything. I have been so exhausted!!!

Re: Wishful thinking
OMG I was a gym fanatic prior to being pregnant I had a few issues and was just afraid to excersice. My husband goes to work at 11:30 am so I really have no excuse of not going to the gym in the AM! I swear when I see people jogging or I pass a gym I just cant wait to get back! THe gym ,some botox and a diet coke and I will be set!Off course after the baby gets here!

That is exactly what I focus on when I close my eyes and beg. I am up 30lbs now and am only 27.5w, but in my little fantasy world, I will BF off all this weight and then some AND I will roam the neighborhood with my fancypants jogger during everyday of my maternity leave and will re-enter the world as a slim toned milf. Then when the branches begin to sprout from where I planted my magic beans, DH, & I are outta here!

I could have written that myself, before I was pregnant I was totally fine, pretty lazy, but now, I have already ordered an elliptical, and made space for it in the house ( facing the tv of course) I too want people to be shocked when I say this is my son

Re: Wishful thinking
ABSOLUTELY!!! I will take my big butt right back to Weight Watchers as soon as this baby is out! I don't want to be telling people "Oh I am not fat - this is just 'baby fat'" while my three year old is running around!!!

Re: Wishful thinking
me too!
with the first, i DID!!! i was about a 6 sometimes 8 before DD#1 was born, i gained 25 pounds, and lost about 50!! (thank you breastfeeding and kickboxing and the south beach diet), and was down to a size 2....a year later, i regained like 15 pounds ove the summer (all those doritos and oreos!!)...now i cannot wait to get back to that old shape and KEEP it this time- i had NEVER in my life been thin like that...ill just have to lay off those oreos and doritos next time!!

Re: Wishful thinking
Yes. I never realized how much I took for granted the fact that I was on the skinnier side and never really had any weight issues. Putting all this baby weight on, seeing how much more difficult it is to do simple things like walking, stairs, etc, without difficulty, having trouble breathing etc., felt like an inside look at what would happen to me if I just kept hoping that my genetics would keep me on the not so heavy side.
I miss running so much and being able to go to the gym to let off some steam!
I already have images of talking long walks with the stoller when the baby comes!

Re: Wishful thinking
I have to say that I truly was in better shape after DD#1. I was 117lbs the day I found out I was p/g. When I started back at work (10 weeks p/p) I weighed 104lbs. My stomach muscles were pretty tight a few months p/p, I did alot of throwing up while p/g(I had hyperemesis) and I think it helped the cause in the long run. Also I nursed which I think helped greatly, my Dr told me it burns about 1200 calories a day on average.

Re: Wishful thinking
With my daughter I gained 25-35 pounds. Lost over 40+. I was skinny to begin with. I got down to my HS weight It was the breast feeding, walking 3miles a day with her in the stroller and not sleeping ....

I was never entirely skinny to begin with ... but I intend to get back to the weight I was this time last year for my wedding which is the smalles I've been my entire life.. we will see. Baby is due in March so i'll have the opportunity for tons of spring and summer walking with the stroller!!!!
