Woamn who work PT or FT with Kids....Please Help
Hi Ladies,
I am just wondering what the costs are today for putting your kids in daycare or having a nanny come to your house. Do you pay per month/day/year??
Me and DH are not sure what we are doing down the road and I have no idea where to even start so i thought i would here.
Also, were there any restrictions on you - like did the baby have to be 6 months old?
Finally, is there any type of daycare that you can pay on a per day basis? Such as if i have a day off in a week and don't take my kid to daycare will i still have to pay??
I would appreciate an FM if you don't feel comfortable posting this.
Thanks so much. You ladies are the best.

Re: Woamn who work PT or FT with Kids....Please Help
I know that Tutor Time (or at least the one I looked at) only offers fulltime care for your infant 6 weeks and up. I only go into the office 3 x's a week so this wasn't an option for me.
Most daycare centers that I looked at ranged in price from 1100 - 1500 a month (again fulltime). There wasn't much pf a price difference between fulltime and part time - if the center offered it. (This was a monthly fee)
Nanny USA is a great service if your looking for a nanny. It's expensive though.... Nannies get 12-15/hr - The agency gets a placement fee based on how many hours you need the nanny. Under 36 hours and the fee was approx. 900. Anything over 36 hours a week and the fee was approx. 2500. (You pay the nanny weekly.)
I started out using a private daycare center (not a chain like Tutor Time) and switched to private in home care. It costs me the same. (I pay her bi weekly.)
Hope this helps!

Ask around your church or faith based organization. My church has a "day care" that can be paid by the day, weekly, or monthly. We have to see if DH's company will let him work from home 2 days a week, so I can see clients on those days. The rest of the time I will be working from home. If DH's company says no, then I will be using my church's day care twice a week. The church was reasonably priced, and they do background checks, etc. I would trust my child being there.
I hope this helps. Good Luck!

Andrew's Tutor Time has a part time infant program (6 weeks and up). You can do 3 days a week, but if you took your child there less you'd still be paying for the week. That option is $808 a month, if you do the normal day hours which are dropping off after 8:00 AM and picking up by 6:00 PM. You can pay extra to extend the day on both ends.

Delaney goes to TT also and she's on the 3 days a week program. I pay extra (I believe $15.00 a day) for the early drop off. If you keep them home on the days they are scheduled to be there, you do still get charged.

I should also say that I've experienced flexibility in switching which 3 days -- for example, Andrew would normally be there today, but his checkup was scheduled for today so I brought him Monday instead.

I would be going back to work FT so i would need to have my child in there for 5 days. Can you tell me what that cost is around (if you know).
Also, how many kids are with your children and do you feel secure with the teachers there??
One more - I assume if you add on another child you would pay double that amount...right?

The youngest age any daycare will take a child is 6 weeks. This is because mothers get off (by law) 6 weeks to recover from childbirth. You can find P/T or full-time programs. When you contract with a daycare you pay regardless of whether your child goes or not that week/day. That is because you are paying for his/her "spot" in the room. The teacher gets paid whether a child is sick or not, or a mom has off or not. It is fair when you think about it. I did not want a nanny so I did not look into the option, although they are more flexiable in terms of hours very often. In many cases though you have to pay for vacation time for a nanny.

Re: Woamn who work PT or FT with Kids....Please Help
A man I worked for last yr had a nanny that was getting sponsored by them to become a resident she was Columbian or something like that. I know they used an agency at first but they only paid 300 a week and she lived with them.
