Re: Woman blinded by acid wants same fate for attacker

She's disfigured and blind and he only gets a drop of acid in each eye? How is that an eye for an eye? Not enough in my opinion.

I agree. She should be able to dump a whole bucket of it on him.

Re: Woman blinded by acid wants same fate for attacker

I found it "funny" that people (human rights activists!!!) are "outraged" that he should get "an eye for an eye". The punishment is too "harsh" I guess.

She should get more of an opportunity to destroy this freak. He stalked her, harrassed her and permanently disabled/disfigured her. How is it that he figures he's entitled to any kind of rights?? I would love for her to be allowed some sort of public audience for this. The zealous nature of these POS men should be forewarned that their crap won't be tolerated anymore.

Yes, I'm sure acid in your eyes is not nearly as bad as acid in your eyes, on your face and hands, in your mouth.

I'm sorry, but I agree with the human rights activists. I don't believe in "eye for an eye".

What happened to this woman is absolutely horrible and should never happen to anyone-even the savages who caused it. What makes us different from these savages is our humanity and I don't think there is anything worth compromising that humanity for.

My heart goes out to this poor woman. I don't blame the woman for wanting him to face the same fate. As the victim, you have an emotional, personal reaction and I would probably feel the same way. The problem I have is the state (a rational body) effecting it.

I think that because these acid attacks have become more prevalent in the area--they are trying to use this case as an example. As if saying "if you use this horriffic crime, you will experience it yourself."

I wish this man was getting more than just a drop in each eye. I saw an interview with this woman--and her entire face is burned by the acid and I can only imagine the pain she endured....I wish that man could experience it 10 fold.

The problem I see with this whole "eye for an eye" debate is that it will turn into a slippery sloap. If this man's punishment is having done to him what he did to this woman, and the courts follow thru with said punishment, people who are victims of horrendous/violent crimes will expect the same punishment be sought out in their case. Where do you draw the line? KWIM?

I agree. The Taliban is throwing acid at school girls to stop them from going to school.

You need to have the punishment fit the crime. That guy ruined her life - I mean ruined it. Did you look at her photos? Did you see that she has no eyes? I'm glad she sees herself married & has a postive outlook but IMO even blinding him isn't enough.

I believe the same punishment shoudl be sought out in cases of horrendous/violent crimes. I believe you forfeit your rights when you have altered someone's life with such permanency.

Well it might sound barbaric -- but I do believe in an eye for an eye. If you do a horriffic crime I think the same should be done to you 10 fold. I'm just sick and tired of all the talk of rehabilitation and such when the recivitism rate of crimes just seems to go up. If you are low enough to believe you have the right to rape, murder, mutilate, or disfigure someone, you don't have the right to breathe air anymore. But thats just me.

Re: Woman blinded by acid wants same fate for attacker

I TOTALLY agree. I'm a long-time proponent of eye for an eye in cases where it's 100% positive who the attacker is. They should give up all their rights and get what they deserve. And maybe it will help deter other criminals. Ditto with death row inmates - kill them the same way they killed their victims. The system is way way too lenient IMO.

Only if the death was slow and painful. If the murderer was quick about it, then I don't agree. I think he/she should suffer.

I saw an interview on this woman, and it was so sad. I can't even imagine going through what the poor woman has and will have to endure for the rest of her life. Chat Icon

With that said, I can understand her wanting this, and can't say that I would feel any different if it were me. He is beyond evil and deserves to be in misery for the rest of his life.
