Won't brush his teeth...
The kid has 16 choppers and he refuses to brush his teeth! I have tried it all, I showed him how I brush my teeth and now he puts the toothbrush in his mouth and shakes his head!
So are his teeth going to fall out if he doesn't want to brush them? I try every single night, but typical boy, he is more interested in pulling on his willy than brushing his choppers!!
What are the repercussions here if he doesn't brush at this young age?

I have the exact same problem, but worse because she is on iron drops and they stain her teeth, so I HAVE to brush them.
It is like torture for all involved, we have to hold her down.

We put on Elmo    and while she watches I get a couple of brushes in there and then she grabs the brush and chews on it.

She seems to like to chew on it after her bath...But we've been having the same prob lately, and she has a LOT of teeth!
The ped, said not to be too concerned until around 18 months.

Sidney gave us a real hard time until she heard the Laurie Berkner song called "The Goldfish". There is a part in the song where the fish brush their teeth. So now we sing that part of the song and get about 20 seconds of teeth brushing done.
P.S. At the end of the verse they say "wait a minute...we're fish...we don't brush our teeth". (needless to say I leave that part out)

LMAO! The teeth will basically decay away. Between the milk and juice even if it's watered down these kids are constantly bathing their teeth in sugar. Brushing is so so important now. I have to hold my 14 month old down with my DH to brush her teeth. No child of a dental hygienist will have a cavity damn it!!!

Long enough to feel like you actually brushed away food and debris. You should be brushing them 2x a day. I have just been doing bedtime but I have to start brushing them in the morning too.

same here. I hope when the time comes she will let me. As soon as I see a tooth pop, Im going to make a game of it so that she gets use to it. also give her a toothbrush and let her play with it, I dont care if she chews it, throws it, as long as she is familiar with it is all I care about. and no that wont be the brush we use to brush her teeth.

I was doing well with Jacob and brushing, and then, well, I lost him somewhere around 3 weeks ago. He clamps his mouth shut and wont even let me get in there, so I have given up for now. It's not worth the torture.

Roman uses an electric toothbrush (for his whooping 2 teeth and fangs) and loves it, maybe he would think of it more like a toy instead of his usual toothbrush chore.

where u live--do they have the toothbrush that plays music--a entire song? they are 10.00 here.
If he loves the electric one he will love the music one..and then u know he brushed long enough--if u want I could pick one up for u

coming from someone who just dished out almost 1K for DS cavities and now have to floss his teeth every night.....
FIND A WAY!!!!!!! At that age searching for monsters helped me get in there.
yes... I use fear as a tactic often. he also has monsters in his ears sometimes
