WOO HOO!! I got it and I need some pointers!!!
I got the Nikon D40 today and the battery is charging as we speak.
I need some quick tips on how to use it today for Halloween...like what setting to keep it on, etc...
I will read the manual tonight when I have some time...but any tips will be appreciated!

The child setting is perfect! Or you can use sports setting if you don't want the flash indoors to go off.

I usually just keep mine on the green "friendly" mode--- then the camera automatically adjusts the settings to what you need it to be.

I agree - the "auto" mode will work just fine. Just press the shutter button down a little to get the camera to focus, then press all the way to take the picture. Easy!
