Wood floors and future baby...
Right now I have finished wood floors in the soon-to-be nursery. We refinished all the floors when we moved into our house last October. Even though the floors are redone, they are still old - the original ones from 1948! Here's the question, should I get a wall-to-wall carpet for the nursery or just a larger area rug (or possibly plush carpeting that they can cut to fit 75% of the room)? I'm not sure what to do because I just redid the floors. What are you guys doing in regards to the nursery? Any suggestions would be appreciated. TIA!
ETA - I'm concerned for when the baby starts crawling/ walking. I want there to be as much cushioning on the floor as possible.

i personally don't like wall to wall carpeting, esp. in a baby's room. we are lucky to have wood floors so we just put an area rug in the baby's room.

Thanks! That's what I was leaning toward but wanted to get some other opinions.

My whole house is wood floors, and they looks so gorgeous, it would be a shame to cover them. In the nursery, we have those foam letters that I got to form a mat. Lets' see if I can find a picture of what I am talking about.

Thanks for posting this. DH wants wall to wall carpeting in the living room and I want to refinish the wood floors and since DH is sneaky... he keeps saying that the baby will want carpeting.

Re: Wood floors and future baby...
i saw divine design yesterday and she used replaceable carpet tiles because she didnt want to cover the wooden floors. this is a pic of the finished room, with the tile carpets. Image Attachment(s):

Re: Wood floors and future baby...
ugh I hate carpet so much and the dust and bugs they hold in that we are having our stairs and landing done in real wood and I will just use a runner on the steps and on the landing. the babys room is laminate flooring and we are just getting an area rug.
