WOOO HOOOOO... New law for drunk drivers...
Nassau county new law. Drive drunk kill someone get 25 years! It should be life but 25 is better then a year which is what the piece of crap got that killed my friend!

I like this new law... Do they have this in suffolk too?I'm having brainfarts all day so i cant remember a lot of things ,seriously i dont understand why I'm forgetting things alot lately!

Is that the minimum or maximum sentence? Ether way, it's nice to see tougher punishment for drunk driving.

Thanks! The guys that hit him were all here illegaly and got 1 year in jail.
They should have gotten deported!

Tougher fatal DWI law to go into effect

New York state law allowing New York prosecutors to charge drunken drivers who harm or kill others with crimes that carry more prison time goes into effect Thursday.
"Enough is enough," state Sen. Charles Fuschillo (R-Merrick) said in a news conference Tuesday. "We need to end this epidemic of drunk driving."
Fuschillo was joined by Nassau District Attorney Kathleen Rice and Assemblyman Harvey Weisenberg (D-Long Beach).
The law -- sponsored by Fuschillo -- creates two new laws, aggravated vehicular homicide and aggravated vehicular assault.
Aggravated vehicular homicide is a felony carries a maximum penalty of 8 1/3 to 25 years imprisonment.
Aggravated vehicular assault carries a maximum of 5 to 15 years in prison.
The law is aimed at drunken or drugged drivers who kill someone or cause a person serious injury, Rice said.
Rice called it a "common-sense piece of legislation" that will "save lives on our roads."
