Work Vent!
OK, so evey place I worked, we have worked in teams. I have one boss to deal with. Its great, you know their style, what they want, etc...
Well here there are no teams and I work for 5 different partners. They all have different styles. One tells me to go to a deposition after only reading one folder. The other tells me not to ask him a question until I have read the entire file One partner micromanages, and another one is so hands off.
So I think I am being thorough on this one matter for my insanely thorough boss, but it turns out there was one thing that I wasn't thorough about He said I probably did the right thing, but I needed more info before doing it
And where is any praise that I just won a motion in oral arguments when the judge was about to go another way? No well done. No congratulations. I just get edits on my letter to the client

Re: Work Vent!
Vent away! I know how you feel At my first job, I worked for a farily large firm (120 attorneys) and in my one year there, I probably worked for about 10-15 different partners It was frustrating because I felt like I never had a chance to really learn each partner's "style." On the other hand, it was a good opportunity to be exposed to the different styles, personalities, etc. At my current job, I only work for 1 partner and 1 senior associate and I like it so much better. I do fill in other things as needed, but I like this situation.
I would just take advantage of the opportunity to learn from as many people as you can. After you are there for a while, you will probably wind up working for less partners
