working beyond due date?
Does anyone plan on working past their due date if they have not given birth?
My plan has been to work as close to the end as possible, but now that I am due in 4 days and feel like I may go beyond my due date, I do not know if I could go beyond this week.
I never really set a firm date with my bosses, just said I would work for as long as I could.
That said - I do live 10 mins from work and work 10 mins from the hospital, however, my job is pretty high stress and requires me to travel to Manhattan, Brooklyn Queens, though this has slowed dramatically. Now I only do Nassau/Suffolk appearances.
I also keep getting new assignments and I hate the idea of leaving things half done, but seems like I will have no choice.
My bosses expect that I will be out any day, so I am wondering if I should just make this my last week (I am due on Sat).
I also only get 6 weeks maternity. I know the doctor instructs when you should go back, so I wonder if the 6 weeks would start next week if I took off or when I have the baby.

As long as your doctor is ok with it and you feel up to it, then save your time!

Thanks! that's just it though - I have been very fortunate with my pregnancy being uneventful, but still lately I have been feeling that I can't possibly work one more day.

I plan on working until I go into labor unless I become extremely uncomfortable. I only get 6 weeks through NYS disability & would much rather save that for when the baby is born.....Plus I am 3 miles from home, so if I need, I can even do 1/2 days...
