Re: working moms.. do you feel like you never stop?
Me! I feel like it never ends and I'm just going, going, going trying to see how much I can possibly fit in the day. How will I ever be able to have a 2nd one if this is life with the 1st??

Re: working moms.. do you feel like you never stop?
I only stop when I come to work, seriously, once I get to my desk I feel like I have died and gone to heaven!!!
We get up at 6.30, have a shower, take Noah downstairs, give him his (first) breakfast, have a cup of tea, leave the house at 8, take him to nursery, drive to work...then, HOORAY! I get to laugh, and giggle, and have fun with my co-workers. I don't have to yell at anyone to get off of that chair, or not to drink from my glass, or not to kick that football at my head...etc etc, you get the gist.
But you know what the best part of my busy day is...getting home and seeing my Noah's smile.
Then he goes to bed!

Re: working moms.. do you feel like you never stop?
I dont ever stop. I try to pause each night around 9:00 but then I feel how tired I am and usually go to bed. I don't ever feel caught up and there is always so much to do - important things that can't be left for next week. I don't think I want to have #2 if I am going to be working, I just don't think we could handle it.

Re: working moms.. do you feel like you never stop?
I start at 5:15-6:00am and don't stop until 10 or 10:30pm.
The only time for me is that QUICK 2 minute shower in the morning.
I don't stop. I shovel food at dinner while DH holds DS.
When I go home at night I take care of my 2 dogs, DS and getting ready for the next day. Then there is the pumping during the day on my "breaks".

Me Me!! I'm always on the go, and doing 25 things at once. Like Rach said though, I feel like at work I have somewhat of a break. It's chaotic there, but at least I'm not trying to feed a baby DS, do homework and give baths all at the same time

Re: working moms.. do you feel like you never stop?
I just started work on Wed. and let me tell you i better find a better routine or somethign b/c i dont know how i am going to friggin do it every day. So far so good though. I am up at 5am breastfeed DS, get dressed by 5:30 leave the house, then i can relax when i get to work and actually do "me" stuff, I pump at work 3 times a day though which is not so bad, 5:00pm leave to get DS from Moms or MIL house, leave MIL house 7:30pm to get home by 10pm ( I live in PA), give DS a bath read him a story and feed him by 10:45pm, then get his bags ready take my shower etc. all by 11:30. I dont know how the veteran working moms do it.
Tell me it gets better

Re: working moms.. do you feel like you never stop?
Ugh, yes! And I feel like I can never catch up. The cleaning has been neglected this week b/c DH has had to work late every night. My house is in a pitiful state.
I do like my break at work but as I am sitting at work, I look forward to picking up my DD and hearing her scream with excitement when she sees me.

Re: working moms.. do you feel like you never stop?
I'm off of work today to clean my house & fold laundry.
My breaks are the train & at work. It's definitely tough - but it absolutely does get easier once they're able to eat dinner with you & go to bed afterwards. No more washing bottles, pumping, filling bottles, etc. Then when they're potty trained, no more schlepping packages of diapers to daycare. You need to give them spare clothes & that's it.
It does get easier as they become more independent, but the price is that they become older. As they do, they need you a little less each year.

Re: working moms.. do you feel like you never stop?
I'm lucky because DH takes all the morning stuff. All I do is feed/walk the dog and make the first bottle.
DH and DS aren't even up yet when I leave the house in the mornings.
We've started to get into a better groove in the evenings. From 3 - 8 it's all about the baby.
With the exception of making dinner I don't do any other chores.
Bedtime starts at 7:00 - bath, bottle, book. We alternate nights so the other can get a little more done.
DS goes to bed at 8:00 religiously. DH and I give ourselves 30 minutes of "chore" time. (Laying out clothes for the next day, running the dishwasher, etc.) then we make time to sit down together.
We might watch TV, be on our laptops, or *gasp* have a conversation, but it's "wind-down" time.

Re: working moms.. do you feel like you never stop?
I feel the same way. I start at 5:40 every morning. My time is on the train and at work because when I get home I have to cook, give DS a bath, take care of him, put him to sleep, etc.

Re: working moms.. do you feel like you never stop?
DH and I say this all the time...we are constantly in motion.
Our weekdays start at 5am - DH jumps into the shower while I pump. I go down to the kitchen to wash my pump accessories and any bottles that we had to give him (lately he wakes at 4am for a small bottle). I get back upstairs and DH is out of the shower. I jump in and he gets dressed so that he can wake DS and get him dressed.
By 6:30am we are out the door. DH takes him to daycare and parks the car at the train station there. I park at the train station near our home.
I get on a 5pm train to daycare to pick DS up and DH gets on a later train and gets the car at the other location.
DS and I get home and play a little (if he isn't cranky), then bath and bed. He is usually asleep by 8pm - although lately it's even earlier.
DH and I race around the house to wash bottles, warm up dinner, do laundry, pack the bags for the next day, straighten up and maybe watch a little tv while we eat...then off to bed.

Re: working moms.. do you feel like you never stop?
I feel the same. Even after we get the boys to sleep, I still have to wash bottles, pack the diaper bag, get their clothes ready for the the next day. I leave work between 5:30-6pm and many times I'm not done with what I need to do, so I end up having to work for another 1-2 hours after they go to bed.
Our home looks like a tornado when through it. DH has been working on the weekends, so I'm home alone with the boys and I just can't clean like a need to. I need to take a day off and just clean, but I'm waiting for my position to turn permanent cuz if I don't work I don't get paid.

Re: working moms.. do you feel like you never stop?
This will be me starting next week. DH and I will split who drops DS by 7:00 at daycare. Then if it is me I need to find a parking spot, get on the train and go to work.
DH will probably pick up DS--then I will get home at 6:00 and get DS ready for a bottle and bathtime and bed. Then I am sure I will be cleaning/laundry.
I dont know how this is going to work.
