Working moms do you have to wake your DC
to take them to daycare/sitter or are they up already? DS is a horrible sleeper but he was actually sound asleep when we had to leave and I had to wake him. It breaks my heart waking him.

Re: Working moms do you have to wake your DC
sometimes. Today I did. But normally, she is up talking in her crib for about 15-20 minutes before I get her
I wake her up at 7:30
On the weekends, she has been sleeping until 8:30ish

Re: Working moms do you have to wake your DC
DD is usually up-- she's a light sleeper, so the second she hears us up, she wants to be up. So we rarely have to wake her to get her out of the house in the morning-- maybe 3 times a month.
It is the worst though when I have to wake her.

Re: Working moms do you have to wake your DC
Thank god she is up. She usually hangs out and talks in her crib for a little while too before I take her out. In the beginning she would still be sleeping though and it broke my heart to wake her too.

Re: Working moms do you have to wake your DC
DS usually wakes up on his own when he hears me running around the house in the morning. Occasionally I'll have to wake him to get him dressed and fed before dropping him at daycare. DS doesn't mind when I wake him up sometimes, he has a big smile on his face

Re: Working moms do you have to wake your DC
No I am lucky because my ILs watch him the 3 days I work and they come to me so that if he is still sleeping we don’t have to wake him. However most days he is up by 7:15 and they don’t come until nearly 8 so its really a non issue either way.

Sometimes we have to wake him and other times he wakes on his own before we go in to get him.

Usually I do - sometimes not. I know - it breaks my heart too... and then she'll fall asleep in the car seat and I have to wake her up again!

Re: Working moms do you have to wake your DC
He usually wakes up between 6:30 - 6:45 so I let him sleep until then
The times I do need him up earlier I put the hallway light on and make some noise to wake him gradually

Re: Working moms do you have to wake your DC
Usually DD is my alarm clock now.
On a rare morning (like today) I just had to make a little moving around noise in the room and she woke up with a HUGE smile on her face

Some days I do have to wake him and it kills me to wake him from a peaceful sleep.

Re: Working moms do you have to wake your DC
I hate to so I'm very late for work everyday. I used to get in around 9:30 - now it's closer to 10/10:30 But ILs took him 3 days this wk, and I was off Monday so I was able to let him sleep. When he wakes on his own he'll sleep til 8AM or sometimes later. I need him to be up around 7:30 to get to the city at a reasonable hour. I hate waking him - and the look on his face it "why mom, why?" then a smile But it also changes with each wk - this wk he slept late, last week he was up on his own around 7:15 and chatting in his crib until I got him.

99% of the time no. But there have been a few times and I feel awful when I have to do it.

Re: Working moms do you have to wake your DC
I am so glad that I do not have to do this since MIL comes to my house to watch DS. When my best friend used to watch him, she used to come pick him up while he was sleeping.

Re: Working moms do you have to wake your DC
Yes and it breaks my heart but thank goodness it's only 2 days a week and not more b/c that would really make me feel bad. she's a great sleeper and I hate interrupting that

Re: Working moms do you have to wake your DC
I only work part time, but unfortunately I do wake him from his nap twice a week to bring him to my MIL. If she would just watch him at my house, we could avoid this problem. My mom comes here once a week and he's always still asleep when she gets here. the other day she watches him at her house, but I bring him there way before nap time.

I've only had to do that once in the 15 months she's been going to daycare.

Re: Working moms do you have to wake your DC
Nope. He's awake by 6:30 and then usually by the time i leave the house at 7:20, he's ready for his first nap and falls asleep in the car.

Re: Working moms do you have to wake your DC
I never have to wake Jayden up, he's up by 6:30am like clockwork. On the rare occasion that Nate is still sleeping at 7:30, we'll wake him up.
