Working moms: how do you deal?
I have been working since DS was 5 months old, he is now 9 months old and realizes that I am not home during the day
He now wakes up so that he can see me in the morning and it is SO hard to leave, I never felt this way before because he was still all cuddled up in his crib until this week. He screeches when I leave the room in the morning, I have to time my departure time so that Moose and Zee are on and sneak out the door.
How do you deal with this? On the flip side, it is amazing when DS dances and gets so excited when I come the door at night, but I miss him so badly during the day now

Re: Working moms: how do you deal?
I went back to work when my daughter was 6months and she will be 9 months on Tuesday.
Just like you, I leave when she is still asleep. However, there have been occassions where she was awake and I snuck out the door while my DH distracted her.
I have no words of encouragement. Each day it hurts me so bad to leave her. They say it gets better. They say I will appreciate the time to myself.
So far, none of that has happened for me. Even with her clapping and crawling to me with a big smile in the evening when I get home.
It just breaks my heart to be apart from her all day long. I pray every day for a solution to allow me to stay home.
So, all i can offer are to you because i know your pain.

Re: Working moms: how do you deal?
It was hard when she was waking at the same time as me, but honestly, I think it helped Ava become the secure toddler that she is now. She never bats an eyelash anymore when we leave because I think it's helped her learn that even though I'm leaving, I'm still going to come back. So look at it this way, you're teaching him a really important life lesson (Did that help at all? )

Re: Working moms: how do you deal?
he's normally still 1/2 asleep in the morning when I leave so I just kinda sneak out.
But this week, he was actually hanging on my leg crying for me not to go and it really ripped my heart out.

It does help though....I really love my job and it is what is best for my family, but I just miss that cool little person that he is now.

Re: Working moms: how do you deal?
From someone who loves her job to another great mom who loves her job, I can tell you that it does get easier. You start to leave work at work, which is something I was never good at. Now, when I come home, it's all about Ava and me. We spend the best time together and it makes the worst days into good ones. It's one of those blessings in disguise. I miss her during the day, but I know she's in good hands with JT and I know that she's going to be there running towards me when I get home.
