Working nights?
I am curious to know how this works out. If you or your DH work nights or opposite schedules do you still use a babysitter/daycare so you can sleep? We are thinking about doing this but wonder how to balance taking care of the baby and getting sleep? Also for those that do this, do you feel you get to see your DH enough?

Re: Working nights?
Dh works 4pm till 4am when he is home. Right now he is deployed for four months. So it is just me being Mommy and Daddy with the closest family member being 12 hour away.
Jack is on a great schedule but I have trouble falling sleep due to the stresses of my husband being away.
I have joined the gym because they do free babysitting and it gives me a routine. I get out see friends, work out and then get a shower in peace knowing he is safe in the hands of this super sweet grandma like lady in the gym's nusery.
Starting at 6 months the methodist church down here for $100 bucks a month has a "Mom's Day out Program" were they take your baby from anytime betwen 8am-9am until 12 or 1 for up to three days a week.. so you can sleep, run errands, get your nails or hair done or just sleep... :) I'm thinking of joining the program just for months like this when Dh isn't around.

Re: Working nights?
I work part time nights 7pm-7am and Rob works 3 long days a week. What we do is I schedule myself to work when he is off both the day before and the day after so I can come and go straight to sleep until at least 2pm.

Re: Working nights?
First I want to tell lori that I give you alot of credit and understand the stress that your going through my brother was deployed twice so if you ever need to talk or anyhting please feel free to FM me and I will give you my other information.
As for the opposite schedules I work from 9 to 5 and FH is a bartender so he works from 7pm till 4am. It does work out pretty good for us yes during the week we really don't see each other that much since I get home at 6pm we have an hour together but we do have fridays and saturdays together and ever other sunday.
Our daughter gets up around 7 - 7:30 cuz she hears me getting ready for work so I get her toether change her feed her and get myself together then when I am a bout to leave I wake up FH and he will watch Tv with her and she usually falls back to sleep anywhere between 9am and 10 am for about an hour or 2 so FH sleeps as well. Then he is up with her she will take another nap around 3 or 4 and sleep for another hour. On the weekends I get up with her and let FH sleep in a bit since he is up during the week with marissa even thoguh he is off. IT works out fine for us.
