Worth getting entertainment for 3 kids?
I'm deciding what to do for Ryan's first. I am debating between doing a kiddie thing in the morning at a Gymboree or something (but not sure if I have enough kids) or just having entertainment at my house when I have immediate family over. If I stick with immediate family then I will only have Ryan, his cousin who will be 16 months and my sister who is 4. Am I being silly to hire someone to entertain 3 kids? Can anyone recommend someone that is entertaining for adults too?

Hiring entertainment seems crazy to me for 3 kids, especially 3 kids that are such different ages. The one year old and 16 month old will be entertained by all the people, and for the four year old you can get crayons, fingerpaints, stickers, etc and be all set.

I agree...at that young age they would be enterained just playing with a bunch of toys. I'd say save your money...

I dunno...I mean we only had 3 small kids and a few older ones and I had entertainment. I had invited many more, but a lot couldn't come. If you have the money, go for it.

Re: Worth getting entertainment for 3 kids?
I got Elmo to come to DD's 1st birthday party and there were only 3 kids (well, 2, one was napping when Elmo came, LOL!). While it was expensive, it was something that we chose to do for OUR child, not the others who would or would not be there. I plan to do the same when DS has his first.

Re: Worth getting entertainment for 3 kids?
for three kids I definately wouldn't get enertainment, but if you want something special, how about purchasing a gymboree parachute that the kids can decorate and play with. A few balls and you are good to go.
If its going to be too cold to go outside and you don't have room for that, set up a play area with childrens music playing.
I often don't get entertainment at my smaller parties. The kids have fun just running around. Sometimes I ask the older kids to lead a treasure hunt or something. Or play simon says.
My dd hates characters. She is 1 yr. I guess it depends on the kid.
