Would it be wrong if...
As some of you know I posted about my dad's cousin's son dying of a sudden heart attack yesterday at the age of 46 in Italy.
DH and I have tickets to tonights Mets/Yankees game and I kind of feel bad going and having a good time knowing that across the atlantic ocean there is a family whose world has been torn apart by this sudden death. I mean they are all devastated, my dad's cousin is going nuts as well as the wife & son of the man who just died. How can I go have a good time knowing these people are suffering???
DH says it might do me good to go and just get out of the house. It might a needed distraction to get your mind off of this tragedy for a while. My SIL (my brother's wife) said the same thing. In fact my brother is going to the game as well tonight.
What do you ladies think? Right now I could care less who wins tonights game...

IMO-your DH might be right.
I don't think that anyone would be hurt or offended by you attending a game.
I think if your up for it, it could be good for you, get out and enjoy life. When someone dies at such young age, it makes me value time so much more.
Whatever you do tonight, have a good time. I'm sorry for your loss.

Not being mean here, but life goes on. And although it is truly sad what happened, think of things this way, your cousin that just passed taught you a lesson, to live life to the fullest because you never know when it is your time. Staying home and being extremely upset is not going to change anything. You DH and SIL are right, if anything it will keep your mind off things for a few hours!!

Did you ever meet the guy that died? It is horrible that he passed, but staying home and mourning won't do you any good. You can mourn the following day.

I agree you should go outto the game and try to have a good time! your cousin would not want you to do that not go and sit around the house! Again I am sorry for your loss and your familys loss.

I remember when I was there the last time and we all had plans to go out to dinner and he got sick and we were going to cancel the plans. As soon as he heard that he was like “don’t you guys dare cancel on my account, go as planned, go with my wife and son and have fun, don’t stay home feeling bad for me, I’ll get really mad”….
With that said, I think you should go out.
