Would like to share an idea
I just started collecting some articles for 2006, for ex: prices of stamps going up, a page from the real estate section, gasoline prices etc...and putting them in a scrap book. When he turns 18, I will give it to him on his birthday and tell him this is what happened the year you were born.

That is a great idea!
Isn't funny that in 15-20 years he will read all that and say, "Wow, stamps were cheap back then!"

My cousin sent Jack a letter when he was born that described all the headlines of the day. I thought it was such a great idea and it is safely in his baby book for safe keepings

When I was born I was given a birthday scroll like the ones at birthdayexpress.com. Then when my son was born I got him one. I had both of the hanging in his room. It was weird to compare the differences of 19 years.

GOOD IDEA, I ALWAYS GOT THE NEWS PAPER ON THE DAY MY KIDS WERE BORN TO PUT AWAY FOR THEM SO THEY CAN SE WHAT WAS GOING ON IN THE WORLD!

My mother wrote me a letter on the day I was born...she gave it to me on my wedding day...as if I wasn't crying enogh happy tears that day.

I love it! DH and I had a similiar idea of doing a time capsule. We're good with the ideas, actually implementing them is another story
