Would like to thank Good Samaritans

My nephew who is 20m old, got out yesterday. My sis was in shower and her DH was workig on her daughters room so going in and out of house. He locked the wooden door, but not the glass storm door. (my nephew is really strong and very quick on picking things up)... well he got the wooden door open (which isnt the lightest thing) and walked out of the house and went around the block (made it around 2 corners)..

My bil noticed he was gone and bolted around the block trying to find him.. when he did a guy who was driving by had stopped his car and got out and picked him up and stood there waiting. He figured the parent would come soon and didnt want my nephew to get hurt or taken. Thank you Good Samaritan.

I cant imagine how my sis and bil are feeling. Thank God a sicko wasnt in the neighborhood and my nephew didnt wonder into street. (my father says when he babysits he has tried to go into street)

Thank God there really are good people in this world.

Re: Would like to thank Good Samaritans

tell your sis to activate the "chime" on her house alarm (if she has one). When you activate it, it will ring every time a door or window is opened. I love to have it, f I hear it ring I run to see who opened something. A few times my sn opened our liders to go into the backard to ge a toy, if it wasn' on, I would o never knownChat Icon . When I can't find him for a split secon I do;t panic becase I know e has to be in the house. That must of been horribly frighteningChat Icon Chat Icon

Thank god he is ok!!! I agree, activating the chime whenever a door is opened helps alot. MY sister has two extremely acvtive kids and always has her chime on. My sister also has a very high top lock because a chime doesn't stop them for leaving the house.

Yeah i told her to do that, and she said she wouldnt have heard it anyway being she was in the shower.

this was just a fluke of a situation, normally both doors are locked and my nephew cant open the glass door lock.

I think the volume is adjustable.

How scary!! I'm glad it has a happy ending though Chat Icon

Your sister should invest in some chain locks so nothing like this happens again.

I agree with the chain locks. He won't be able to reach that high.

I am glad nothing happened and he was found safe. What a scare!
