Would this bother you? daycare related
So Riley is at the Learning Experience. She'll be 10 months on Friday, so she's in the Infant B room, which is primarily for babies 6 months and up.
Lately, I've been dropping her off in the morning at Infant B, and when I get there she's in Infant A. The room for the babies under 6 months of age. This has become almost routine at this point.
I don't think it would necessarily bug me if the girl I actually liked from that side of the room didn't leave. The girl over there now is just a lump on a log.
So today I brought it up with the director, just curious as to why this keeps happening. She said she'd look into it, but she is guessing it's because Riley is such an easy baby and is happy anywhere, so that when they have to mix around with the ratio and let's say one of the babies is having a tough time, they can balance it out with a baby like Riley who is just so easy.
In my eyes, it's just, hey let's take Riley because she's happy to play on her own and we don't have to deal with her too much. Yeah, it's a compliment that my baby is so easygoing...but why should she be left to herself in the room with the caretakers that are less than interactive? And plus, shouldn't she be with babies around the same stage of development?
So...am I being nitpicky here? Or would this bother you too?
Just curious!

To me, it's more important that they maintain the proper ratio. I know that DS is moved around between Infant A and B depending on who is in the room. I am one of the last mom's to pick up and usually all the kids are in Infant A. I don't mind.

I hear ya. I guess because it's always Riley, and never one of the other kids so it kinda irks me, kwim? And it probably irks me more cuz I'm not fond of the girl in Infant A to begin with. Back when they had the other girl there, I didn't mind it one bit! But back then it hardly ever happened anyway. It was just on late nights or whatever.
But you do have a good point about the ratio.

Christopher was at a TLE at that age and they did the same thing towards the end of the day. They would consolidate as the day went on
I don't remember it bothering me....

they do this at Eddies daycare too, once teachers start going home to keep the ratio. The opposite happens with him though, they put him in a room with older kids. Which sometimes makes me nervous but Id rather there are enough eyes and ears to take care of him, than the ratio being imbalanced and hes not being properly watched.
I wouldnt worry too much if its just at the end of the day, its happens at most centers.

DD goes there also. When I pick her up she is always in preppers even though she is a twaddler because they combine when numbers start getting lower. She started in infant A and they have always done this once people start leaving at the end of the day. I don't think it is a big deal.

See, I even wonder if it really is happening at the end of the day. Sometimes it almost seems like she's there for most of the day!
I dunno...I guess it really must be the girl in that room that's making this nag at me. I'll get over it!!
Thanks for knocking some sense into me, girls!

My son is also one of the children most likely to be moved because he's so easy going and doesn't complain. It doesn't really bother me too much since he is getting to see different teachers, children and toys.

Thats a different story...if its all day, then yes, Id be annoyed!
Pop in during the day once unannounced and see where she is.
