I got an email from my uncle who KNOWS who I am voting for. The email consisted of nothing but lies and is putting down the candidate I'm voting for. He even went so far as to make a point to say "and you want to vote for him??" I'm offended. I make it a point to NEVER discuss politics - for obvious reasons and I don't feel he should have sent it. There are just some topics I try to avoid, and this election is one.
Am I over reacting?

I would just hit delete and let it go. He obviously chooses to believe something that a random person put together that is most likely not true and forward to everyone he can think of. It's best to not get involved.

Just tell him you don't appreciate it and let it go. It's not worth getting angry and annoyed and holding onto those feelings without saying anything to him. Just let him know you didn't appreciate the email and hope he'll be more tactful in the future.

My dad does this ALL the time. It's so annoying but I just ignore him and delete them.

My dad does it to me alllllll the time. I usually find something snarky to say about the email, or send him a link to Snopes disproving whatever the email was trying to prove.
