It depends on the situation... To see family, yes, to just go to italy, then I probably wouldn't.

If it meant me going or not going (leaving the baby home) I definitely would!

I will have an opportunity to visit our warehouse in Italy next year and I might be able to bring DH and DS.

DH said we shouldn't bring him but I really would like to.Chat Icon

I prob would-

AT this stage- If I went away without him- I would miss him so much- I feel like I wouldnt enjoy the trip to the fullest- Id be worrying, and rushing through the trip- because I would wanna get home to see him...

I plan on traveling with DS as much as possible and I dont feel that just because we have a child we cant travel. I also dont feel comfortable leaving him overnight anywhere.

We are renewing our vows and going to Jamaica next month-

Everyone keeps saying how stupid we are for bringing DS-

But- we just really enjoy being together- and this is the way we wanted it....

Babies love walks and stimulation- Im sure your son would love going

why not?! If it means taking the baby or not going, why pass up the opportunity! Personally I couldn't go w/out my babies-I could never be so far from them.

Re: Would you bring a 1 yr old to Italy?

NO...the plane ride alone would be torturous

IMO there is no need to bring a baby to Italy

ETA...unless you are visiting with family

When i was at Italy i visiting Venice or Rome or actually any of the areas...It just isn't a place i would ever want to bring my child to

Re: Would you bring a 1 yr old to Italy?

Italy is my dream vacation and if that was the time I was able to go.
Heck yea!
I dream of the day when I am well enough (physically and $$) to travel the globe with my child.

It would depend on how long I was planning to be there. If it was over 5 days, I'd have to bring him.

Re: Would you bring a 1 yr old to Italy?

If it's a matter of going or not going, then I would bring him. May parents brought me to Italy when I was an infant and again when I was 2.

However, I am a firm believer that every couple needs to go on vacations without their children, when they are ready.

I know I am in the minority, but it's important fo rparents to be able to reconnect......

I totally agree!

I have two stepkids. Granted, they live with their mom but we take a vacation with them every year and with just the two of us every year, also. The kid vacation we go somewhere they would really love, i.e. Disney or another theme park. When its just DH and I we go to some tropical resort.

Re: Would you bring a 1 yr old to Italy?

We brought our DS to Europe with us with the reasoning that he was too young to talk to us on the phone and hear that everything was alright every night beofre he went to bed.

We plan on doing a lot of traveling with Jordana.

I just took her to California for a weekend. She was amazing on the flight- and that was 5 1/2 hours. She slept a litle and played. She was so happy. We took a red eye back and she was just perfect.
