would you change jobs?
I got offered a new job. Sounds good, esp compared the the very stressful job I have now. I hear the benefits are good but I don't know what they cover for IF. My current insurance is great, but the jobs stinks!!!!!!! If I wasn't TTC I would take it.
What do you girls think. I am going to try and find out more about the insurance policy.
TIA!

Re: would you change jobs?
I would find out if it's covered in the new job. If your miserable there I would leave. Good luck!

Re: would you change jobs?
A less stressful job is definitely a good thing. It is a good idea to find out about the benefits, though. Is the company listed on the list of companies that cover IF? There was a post the other day about a list.

Re: would you change jobs?
my 2 cents
If I weren't going through all this I would have started looking for a new job a few months ago - I'm a bit bored and the commute is getting to me, but my boss and co workers have been great about flexibilty with dr appointments and such..the hardest part of a new job for me would be having to schedule the dr appointments

Re: would you change jobs?
tough call. I wouldnt do a thing until I new 100% about the insurance. Then depending on where you are with TTC I would consider it. But remember you will need time off for appts and if you do get PG you have to work there for 1 year before you can get FMLA.

Re: would you change jobs?
I changed Jobs this Summer one because my job was very stressfu, I was a pediatric Emergency room nurse! Before I switched I called human resources and asked them questions about coverage and said I was wondering about fertility coverage if by some chance I would need it!! They answered all my questions!!

Re: would you change jobs?
I changed jobs for better insurance that included IVF coverage.
Before I accepted the job, I asked them for their Group Insurance Number so I could verify if my doctors were covered under their insurance. Didn't give TMI. They gave me the Group Number and I called the Ins Co and verified that IVF was covered! Two minutes after hanging up with the Ins Co, I accepted the job!

Re: would you change jobs?
I don't want to change jobs because of accumulated time off, being here for 5 years. There are benefits for staying on where you are -- only because of this time off situation. And again, it's the ONLY reason I didn't leave my job.
I'm not trying to be a negative Nelly, I just wanted to point this out to you so you don't make any hasty decisions. Once you do have a baby, you're going to want all the time you can get at home. Just thinking a few steps ahead

Re: would you change jobs?
My old job had excellent IF insurance. Although I was laid off, I now realize the VALUE of having IF insurance. I would find out what the insurance policy is before accepting. I would hate to see you have regrets.

Re: would you change jobs?
Thanks guys for your responses. Besides insurance reason, I also have about 4+months of time accumulated that I can take for leave at full pay. I know I won't get that with a new job. I also now can leave for my treatments here and there as needed. I am leaning toward staying in my current position and not returning after the baby. thanks again!
