Would you ever air your dirty laundry on "National TV"?

Edited to say: inspired by the Judge Judy Post.

I wouldn't.

I never understood why people go on national TV to air their dirty laundry about their marriages, family, money situations etc.....

I think that all of the dysfunctional tv is not good... that's all young people watch and they think they can emulate the behaviorChat Icon

I don't think that true. I think its for entertainment. I grew up watching Jerry springer and always laughed at them and watched for entertainment. I never tried to emulate what they did.

I knew a producer of the Judge Mills Lane show. I also never understood why anyone would go on.

This is why: If the defendent looses, the show pays his debt to the plaintiff.

The plaintiff automatically gets a set sum of money for appearing.

If the defendent wins, s/he gets a set sum of money for appearing.

Re: Would you ever air your dirty laundry on "National TV"?

Yeah - I have an old friend who was being sued in small claims court by a psycho ex boyfriend. The People's Court contacted her on her cell phone!!! She was really mad and when she asked how they got her number, they said that small claims court records are public so they went through them to get the names of the plaintiffs and defendants!! They told her they'd pick her up in a limo and pay the judgement if she lost - she declined. Her exact words to me were "People's Court is so ghetto...now if Judge Judy had called..."Chat Icon
