Would you get a new hairdress if
your hairdresser was really great at styling hair, but you didn't like her personality (not a little, but ALOT)?
I am thinking I have to because it is getting harder and harder to motivate myself to go back. But my hair looks so great after she does it.

I would switch. I don't need to be annoyed while getting my hair done.

Yes! I used the same hairdresser for years and she did a good job on my hair but listening to her talk about her other clients really annoyed me. For this reason I decided to try someone new.

if my hair looked good I wouldn't care. What's an hour of my life to look good in between appts.

ITA.. it's really hard for me to find a stylist that I like so I would prob just deal with her bad personality for an hour for great hair.

Bring something to read -hopefully she gets the point that you dont want to talk, so you wont need to listen to her.

This works to a point...I've had a hairdresser use some of the images to strike up conversation...what works for me is saying I've had a hectic day thus far and hope no offense is taken as I enjoy the silence
I'd try some of the suggestions before moving on. Good luck .

Re: Would you get a new hairdress if
I would stay if shes doing a great job, as long as my hair looked hot when I left, I wouldn't care if I spoke to her or not--lol

Re: Would you get a new hairdress if
No way - I'm paying her to make my hair look fabulous, not to be my BFF -
If my hair looks great and she gives me a good cut, I don't care if she's the biggest beyotch in the world ...........I only have to deal with her for a few hours a year ! -

I stay. its very hard to find a good hairdresser.
I'd bring a book and look very interested in that while she is doing my hair so she wouldn't even bother me.

Re: Would you get a new hairdress if
There are a few other things at play here. She is always running late, she seems to rush me through my appt, she always just sticks me under the self dryer and forgets about me. But my hair looks great. So a bad personality and bad service.
I will give her one more shot.

I would tell her that you specifically want HER to blow out your hair (or style it or whatever) -
My regular stylist is @ Maximus in Westbury where they have someone wash, someone cut, and then someone else blow out - Annoying. - I want my STYLIST to blow out my cut. (and b/c she's the only one other than my sister who blows out my usually curly hair to look AMAZING) ..........So I tell them when I make the appt that I want her to blow out, and I tell her before I sit in the chair - If she doesn't blow it out, I tip her less -

Re: Would you get a new hairdress if
I would switch, because there are many talented people that won't make you want to wretch your guts up with their lack of charm.
