Would you go?
The pool in my complex opens up today and I planned on taking DS but he woke up this morning with the sniffles. Lots of sneezing and a runny nose.
I was planning on going when it opened at 11 but now I am not so sure if I should take him at all.
So would you still take your DC if they just had the sniffles? No fever or anything else.

Re: Would you go?
I'm in the "if you never did anything while they had a cold, you'd never get out of house" theory.
But I think of how I'd feel with a cold, running nose, etc. I wouldn't want to be in a pool. I'd want to be in the sun, outside running around or lounging reading a book but a pool, probably not.
How old is DC? Can you get away with a park or sticking their feet in the water?

Re: Would you go?
I am the same way. I usually take him out for fresh air whenever he has a cold. My ped actually recommends it if the child is up to it.
DS is 7. Right now other than the sniffles he seems ok, wants to go but I am on the fence. I guess mainly because 1. I know he tends to go from a little cold to something worst and 2. I am 40w pregnant. So I know that I will be in the hospital any day and I would hate for him to be sick while I am not there to care for him.
Thanks I may take him over to the park instead or just let him relax at home and let him play on his computer today.

Ah at 40 weeks pregnant, take him to a park where you can rest & he can tire himself out in the sun or out in a backyard with a sprinkler. The sun may dry him out.
I wouldn't want to deal with a sick child & a newborn. I did that once & when the newborn got sick, it was a spinal tap.
