Would you go away Mother Day weekend without DC???

I was offerred 3 FREE nights on the brand new Royal Caribbean ship Liberty of the Seas but it is over Mother's day weeknd and I can't bring DH or DD. It is just for travel agents. I would only have to pay for my air (which I priced out for $158 round trip ). I would have to pay for NOTHING on board execpt the Spa and gambling...all drinks will be included. I would be going with 3 other women in my office. I just started there about 6 months ago and don't know the women going that well...none of my friends from my old job are going.
I need to give them a decision in the am.....Would you go???????????

I wouldn't but that's probably because I still haven't left DD. It would probably have less to do with the fact that it was over mothers day.
How does DH feel about you going?
Do you think you'll have fun with the women who are going?

I would, but I'm not really into most of these "Hallmark" holidays.

No....partly because I have never left DD for longer than a couple of hours and partly because although it is a "hallmark" holiday it is one day in the year where you are appreciated and recognised for being a mom and for that I think its a great holiday!

What does your DH think?

DH said he wouldn't mind if I went...and I have never been away from Hayley overnight. I am afraid I would get homesick and wouldn't be able to get off the ship...it is 3 days at sea.

Oh boy, as much as I'm all for going away without the kids, I don't think I'd be able to do three days at sea. I mean, I would need to know that if there was an emergency at home, I could easily have access to a flight home. If you're out to sea, that'd take some time. But that's justmy neurotic thinking.

Sorry to say, but I would go! Hayley is still too young to know it's Mother's Day. It might be nice to get to know the other women in the office a little better. Maybe I'm a bad mother or something, but I know that I would miss Marron, but it is not something I could not deal with. The only thing that would keep me from going would be if I thought I would feel strange being with 3 people that I barely know.

I personally wouldn't, but that's just me. It might be a different story if DH was going. I'm just one not to go on a trip alone in general.

I wouldn't go. But this my first mother's day as a mom and I would feel badly leaving DH since he lost his mom just before we met. It's not an easy holiday for him. She was a really great lady. I miss her even though I never met her.

Having it be on Mother's Day wouldn't stop me, but, not knowing any one else who was going very well probably would.

Personally, I wouldn't go either because 1) I wouldn't want to be away from DS my first Mother's Day and 2) I swore I would never go on a cruise again that was less than 5 nights. (I'm not ready to go home after such a short time)

I haven't weaned yet, so my DD wouldn't do too well with me disappearing for three days. If you don't have a physical dependency and your husband (or other people she is comfortable with) will be able to be with your daughter the whole time you are gone, I think you should go! Your daughter won't know its mother's day, and what a nice opportunity for you!

I decided to go!!!! I am going with one of the new girls that was just hired. Im getting excited now....I was looking at the ship online and OMG! It looks awesome! 3 full days to roam around on this ship, I can't wait now!
