They are offering a great Groupon for a party at little chefs. I mentioned wanting to buy it for ds's 5th birthday party next April at dinner and dh and my parents looked at me like I had six heads Apparently boys aren't supposed to have cooking parties.
We took a class there the last time they offered a Groupon and it was fun. They made their own fries and pigs in a blanket and also made and decorated their own cookies. What is girly about that?

Nothing! All the best Chefs are men! Food Network is DOMINATED by shows with men!!
DS LOVES to help me bake!!! He has a kitchen in my kitchen, loves to play "ice cream shop" in the yard.....DO IT!!
Why must so many people place stereotypes on kids who would never otherwise think cooking is "not for boys?!!!

Boys love cooking. I took my 7-8 year old Cub Scout Den to California Pizza Kitchen a few months ago, where they got to "cook" their own pizza, and they all loved it. A few years ago, DS went to a b-day party at a pizza parlor where everyone made their own pizza (boys and girls).
I think it would be a great idea.

Yes! I know DS would love it. Everyone should know how to cook and how great to foster that among boys as well as girls.

Absolutely! My 5 yo DS has been helping me cook since he was able to walk! He totally loves it, and can expertly crack an egg and measure ingredients! He enjoys helping in the kitchen more than some little girls I know!
