If we had excess cash DH and I would be investing it, but we're pretty aggressive long term investors.

Honestly, this is the time to BUY BUY...it'll pay off in the long run! My High School Economics Teacher's motto was "Buy LOW sell HIGH"!

We still invest in stocks. DH is fairly good at it since he works in the industry.

As an economics teacher that's EXACTLY what I preach and practice as well
There are bargains out there.
To quote Warren Buffet:
Look at market fluctuations as your friend rather than your enemy; profit from folly rather than participate in it.
And my favorite...
We simply attempt to be fearful when others are greedy and to be greedy only when others are fearful.
ETA: I will say, when we buy, we buy to hold... a long term strategy is best for most.
