Would you let your baby ride in a Jeep Wrangler???
My Dh has a Jeep Wrangler Soft top. he will be bringing the baby to and from Day care/sister's house every day. Would you feel comfortable with your baby in the Jeep??? Im pretty nervous about it!!
ETA:What about for all day driving too. On days he's off (more than me) he'll have the baby in the Jeep all day!!!

Re: What would you do????????????????
I personally wouldn't feel comfortable...but I am a super worrywart. I would want a car or truck that had a hard top for extra protection.

Re: Would you let your baby ride in a Jeep Wrangler???
If you are asking for my opinion I would definately not feel safe but obviously in this economy selling and buying new may not be a choice.....the days the DH will have the baby can you take the jeep and let him take your car? Just a suggestion.....

Re: Would you let your baby ride in a Jeep Wrangler???
MY DH has a jeep wrangler too. Buying something new for him is not an option because we are buying me a new car.
I don't love it, but we have both the hard top and the soft top. I'm more comfortable with the idea when the hard top is on. Considering my little bean will be born in November, it will be quite some time till we have to think about the soft top. Is possibly buying the hardtop an option for you?

I would feel uncomfortable. Especially since Jeeps are known to flip!

Re: Would you let your baby ride in a Jeep Wrangler???
I'm an overprotective freak. I wasn't even comfortable with driving my VW cabrio when I got PG with my daughter, so we sold it and bought a subaru outback. So, for me, no, I probably wouldn't be ok with it.

Re: Would you let your baby ride in a Jeep Wrangler???
My sister had a Wrangler when she had my niece and still does. I don't know if it's ideal, but it should be fine. My niece is now 10 and lived to tell the tale.

Re: Would you let your baby ride in a Jeep Wrangler???
The soft top would only be an issue if he flipped over, right ?
I would keep the Jeep. Unless he was looking to buy a new car right now. I think the hard top is a good idea though.
I would actually be more concerned with it being cold with an infant in there( you said you wont drive in it in the winter).
I see car seats in convertible car all the time, I would think it's the same thing.

Re: Would you let your baby ride in a Jeep Wrangler???
Does the soft-top Jeep have an actual roll-cage, or is that mainly decorative bars on the top? If it's a structural roll-cage, then it's safer than almost any hard-top, as far as roll-overs go.
A hard-top (for any vehicle) doesn't protect a whole lot. It's mainly sheet metal. It's the upright supports and structure that protect the passengers. That's why convertibles are OK. They have bars that protect the passengers.

Husband is a NY state trooper. Since trucks and Jeeps are higher off the ground they have a higher percentage of flipping than a car lower to the ground.

This is not an actual fact.
I don't think it would bother me that much, but then again, my DH drives my DS in his Mustang T-Top

That's ALL trucks and jeeps, which includes SUVs. Not just jeeps

Agreed. There is a big difference between certain types of cars are more prone to flip and jeeps are known to flip. I'm sure you didnt mean it that way.....
